The bold move was CLE, passing on Hunter and Jeanty for an undersized DT and a high second round pick.  They also get a first next year but JAX may actually be decent that pick may not be all that great.

It may work out for them.  Maybe Mason Graham is the next JJ Watt.  But I suspect that one and probably both Hunter and Jeanty are going to be really good and this will be remembered as a major miss by CLE.

It's a bold take. Most pundits are raining praise on CLE for the value they got. Time will tell, and it's always hard to Guage value on DTs. Graham has never projected as a game shifting pass rusher. He's more the elite run defense with constant pressure. Think like 4-8 sacks as an upside, but league leading pressures and tfl. Honestly his pro comp is this years Milton Williams lol

Also I agree he's very good

My take after round one:

Baltimore getting Starks and teaming him with Hamilton is top safety duo in NFL
Eagles got another great defensive player in Campbell who I thought be pick 12-20 picks
Don?t know bout Carolina picking McMillian that high & TB picking another WR
Atlanta getting Walker at 15 was a steal
Sanders is overrated & NFL teams know this
Mike Green off field issues hurt him big time
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Mason Graham will be a regular Pro-Bowler.

Since you're seemingly a Michigan fan, thoughts on Loveland?

I don't understand Atlanta's trade for Pearce, at all.  He's a good player.  But, trading a 2nd rounder and next year's first for him?  That seems like a wild overpay.

Pearce could be all pro, or out of the league in 5 years. I'm with you, the boom or bust isn't worth that kind of capital

The idea is that Pierce went into the year as the top past rusher prospect but had a back slide in his value, which largely has to do with character concerns that nobody wants to talk about publicly.

Clearly, Atlanta chose to overlook them. He did have a strong combine and likely would have been gone at their second round pick but clearly feels like an overpay from a value perspective. Swinging and missing so badly on the Judon trade also clearly increased their sense of urgency to fix the pass rush.

Wonder how much longer Shadeur drops and who rolls the dice on him.

I would assume Cleveland or the Saints, but who the heck knows?

Some good players on the board for 38. Connerly and Simmons both went well before the pick so drafting a tackle with the second was likely not an option.

I?m hoping they go for the BC connection with Donovan Ezeiruaku at DE. Seems like a great character fit along with being extremely talented. I?ve heard he has the deepest set of pass rushing tools in the draft. Would be valuable insurance if Keion White isn?t able to bounce back this year.

Speculation that 2nd round will see a run on WRs & EDGE.   Both are positions of need for the Pats.

Shedeur Sanders not being selected in the first round is now considered racism, per media!
