I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Not good.

Now teams getting a chance to say "have a taste of our medicine playing postseason games with an injured roster"

Keep Tatum out through Game 4.

Can you name me a recent seasob in which the Celtics DIDN't have significant playoff injuries?

Shams was saying before the game that if BOS went up 2-0, they might "shut down" Tatum for a bit. Like not long term, but possibly another game or even two. I wonder if they do that.

Game 4 will be a full week after Game 1, so maybe they rest JT in Game 3 as well with a 2-0 lead

Winning game two does buy them some wiggle room. Hopefully the Detroit/NYK series goes 6 or 7 so the C's can get a little time off if they can finish Orlando quickly.

Stretching the definition of recent, but maybe the last Kyrie season or the first Kemba season?

Playoff success is always due to health, though - most teams that make it to the postseason are dealing with injuries.

First Kemba season was kind-of a disaster and would have had us in the Finals without injuries. First, there was the obvious Kemba injury where he was basically a shell of the guy we signed. But we also lost Hayward for most of the playoff run. He came back for game 3 vs Miami, but we were already down 0-2 at that point.

Imagine if Horford didn't ditch us that offseason, too. That could have been a sweet win over the Lakers

Like to see JT play in game 3 just because it is pretty much the series.

I'd be fine resting him another game.  Celtics don't need him this series.

I hope to see him in Game 3 if he?s close to ready.  JB was great, but 42 minutes and a lot on his shoulders, and his knee.   Best case for Cs is the sweep with NY/Detroit going 6 or 7.  If chances of sweep increase with Tatum on the floor, I?m all in.

Not at the expense of health.  There is zero incentive to rush Tatum back at the moment if he's still sore.

I would let the medical diagnosis and how he feels dictate whether he plays or not, not necessarily wins or losses.

Injuries were the one thing that could derail our title run (well, other than our head coach that is  8)).

And not only do we suffer a bad injury, but it's to our best player on his shooting hand.
I'm remembering Kevin Garnett's knee in 2009 that prevented a repeat.
Enough of this bad luck. It has followed us around like a dark cloud since 1986.

Yeah, that?s what you said last season, too.  ;)

according to mazzulla, tatum has a "severe bone bruise". so the upside is no long term damage.

if we take mazzulla's word for it, tatum has already improved. that's another a good sign it won't be too long term.

still doubtful for game 3. i am fine with that.
