And so it begins. What's next? Zinger breaking a leg in Game 2?

We might be in real trouble. Jaylen and Porzingis have to pop off now but yeah KP isn't durable either and JB is dealing with his own knee issues already

We should still win this series, beyond this it gets very dicey. Even NY/DET isn't a "walk in the park" without Tatum

Yuck.

I guess he was just going on adrenaline for the end of Game 1?  Other than the missed FTs, he played pretty well after the injury.  (Why Joe had him finish the game after the injury is another question, but that's an ongoing thing.)

I think he was already day to day and now officially is "Doubtful".  What's the difference between doubtful and questionable?  Why not just say doubtful if you're not sure?

Doubtful is more like 0-25%, Questionable is typically 50% (50/50), Probable around 75-100%

Game 4 will have been a week from Game 1 (Sunday to Sunday)

If they keep JT out until then, do we think they can split the next two without him? (idk)

This stinks. I definitely wouldn't rush him back- especially with how physical Orlando is. We're really going to need KP and Brown to be on their A game, can't expect that D White is going to be able to drop 30 every night.

Not good.

Now teams getting a chance to say "have a taste of our medicine playing postseason games with an injured roster"

Keep Tatum out through Game 4.

Honestly I think the Celtics will win this series even if Tatum doesn't play another game in it, which i'm sure he will. I even think the C's could beat either of Det/NYK without Tatum as long as no one else gets hurt, tho it would for sure be much tougher.

What worries me is whether this will linger in the Eastern and NBA finals. The C's will need to be firing on all cylinders to beta the Cavs/Thunder, if Tatum's shooting is limited the C's become much easier to guard.

He came back quickly from the ankle - maybe his 27yo healing powers will work their magic on the wrist and he?ll be in the lineup for Game 3.  In the meantime, the Celtics team personality is that they have the talent to absorb missing pieces. Granted he?s the top guy, but Cs have the talent to beat Orlando and whoever comes out of NY-Detroit without him.

This series is over if JT misses multiple games. Cs already sucked in game 2s at home in round one and this just compounds it. Cs were 8-2 this season without JT and the 2 losses were to Orlando.

Injuries going to cost them the title like it did in 87 and 09. That doesn't even factor in other guys having to do more and Jrue and KP aren't always healthy.

McHale's broken foot
KG's knee
JT's wrist
JB's knee

I don't see them winning game 2 tomorrow unless KP actually shows up.
Not a lot of faith in the rest of the line up without JT....esp the bench after PP.

And now we get to see more double bigs with KP and Al. Great.

I think this illustrates why it is so hard to repeat.

I think we can get past ORL without Tatum for some or all of the games.  But it will result in more wear and tear and stress on everyone else.  It accumulates, compounds as you continue through the playoffs.

I am not worried yet, even if he misses the next game.  I don't really know what a bone bruise is but I am guessing the severity can vary.  Doubtful means he might play, may not even miss a game.  We are probably favored in this game even if he misses it.

Just don't know what this team looks like without Tatum in the playoffs. Tomorrow is now very concerning given this team's past track record at home in the playoffs....instantly think about the last year game 2 vs Miami.

This game is on KP in my mind. His game 1 performance was abysmal.
