The cs better come out ticked off tomorrow.  Dirty play by orlando.  I blame the refs.  They let the magic be as physical as they wanted and didn't call anything.

Agreed...He grabbed his elbow and spun him around in mid-air...DIRTY play....He didn't just hit Tatum on the elbow.

A lot of people didnt think it was a flagrant but if you look at the play he made no effort to get the ball. He grabbed him by the arm and pulled him down while Tatum was in a very vulnerable position. High chance for injury which is what ended up happening.

And the blame should definitely be on the refs for allowing that crap all game from Orlando. It felt like an away game whistle for us. We need to have Torey Craig come out and clothesline banchero in the 1st qtr

I think something will happen...maybe Tillman can earn his money.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

Tillman, Craig or Q should go out in the dirst half and lay some wood on those fake tough guys! I'm tired of watching Tatum get smacked around. Tome to send a message!

This item from the ESPN write-up on the hard foul and Tatum injury ............

"Immediately after Tatum went down on the play, Mazzulla appeared to briefly hold a Celtics training official back from attending to Tatum before yelling "get up" at Tatum, who remained on the floor. When asked about the moment Tuesday, Mazzulla offered a one-word answer: "Love."

"I think at the end of the day I'm grateful for the relationship that I have with the guys," he said. "I'm grateful for the relationship that I have with him. And you love guys in different ways. But everything is built on love. Everything is built on the relationship that we have, their self-expression.

"They allow me to be who I am. And they trust [me and] we have a trust for each other, but it all starts with love. And so in that moment it looks different in different moments, but I appreciate who he is as a competitor and our team in that moment, but it all starts with that
"

Huh ? What kind of gobbledygook is that ?
Joe comes up with some weird comments sometimes.

Cole Anthony and KCP basically just said Horford's comments and the reaction to Tatum's foul "mean nothing" and that they'll continue to play physical and "do their thing"

Really hope the team shows up and fights back as well. Wouldn't mind some hard fouls if they are gonna do the same to us.

Celtics are going to be fine.  This is a veteran team who understands the situation and mentally tough.  Others will step up.

Cole Anthony is a dirty player. Has always been one. Dude kicked PP last game. I hope the Cs bust his ass tonight. Same with Pope.

Hopefully they are as physical with Orlando as Orlando will be with Boston.  I can see Orlando coming out and playing even more physical then they were last game to see if the refs will allow them again to get away with a ton of fouls.  Orlando thinks that being dirty is playing the right way.  They may not want to hurt anyone but they are definitely aren't trying not to hurt people as well.  When you give something extra on a foul that's always the move that hurts the other player.  Just like KCP when he pulled Tatum's arm down that caused the hard fall and the weird angle that hurt his wrist.  I hope the C's win by 30 to shut them up.

I know it is tempting to want to try and play tough back at them but we are better served just playing our game.  Play hard of course, but don't play differently than you normally would.  If you do, you are playing into their hand.  No need to do that.

Pritchard said it best, we do what we do.  I say just keep doing that which you do and you will be fine.

Quote
Karalis: We've seen those hard fouls on Jayson (Tatum). It seems like it's an attempt at intimidation. How is that received by you guys? How do you react when the other team?s tactics are to kind of toe the line of the physicality?

Pritchard: I don?t know, I don't feel intimidated. I grew up playing physical basketball ? no matter what a hard foul is, we just get up and play ball and just like check it back up ? (the physicality is) not gonna stop us from what we're trying to achieve.

Karalis: Do you feel like there's ? any perception around the league that ? that's how you get to you guys? That because ? maybe you're seen as less physical ? teams are gonna try to push that button?

Pritchard: It's fine, they can try. See if it works. We go into the game and do what we do.

I'm curious to see how the refs officiate tonight.  I can't imagine the NBA wants bully ball, with its superstars being injured by rough play.  I'd be surprised if the refs weren't instructed to call a tighter game.
