Celtics on Cruise Control for the rest of the season.  Hope Brown shows some improvement.  Maybe it will be good for him to have a chance to be "the guy" with the deep bench line up.

Brown should sit out...

Agree, but I suspect he will play 22 minutes.

I don't know.  I agree that he shouldn't play if it is just about getting him eligible for an award.  That is no reason to play him.  But if he needs to play to get his game back so that he is ready for the playoffs, then he should play and this game is a good opportunity to "work on things".

He did not look right vs. NYK, everyone could see that.  So if he just rests for another 10 days, how is he going to look in the playoffs?  You don't want him taking minutes in the playoffs to work things out.  Better to have him out there playing in these last 3 games when it doesn't matter.

Now if he is just plain injured, and what we saw vs. NYK is what we are going to see for the rest of the way, that is concerning.  How much different is he going to look if he doesn't play for the next 10 days or so?  I am guessing not so different than what we saw vs. NYK.  That version of Jaylen Brown is not going to help much in the playoffs.  But if he can get 4 games in, maybe he can get his game back.  Seems like that is the plan.  Put him out there, see where he is at.

I wasn't buying that JB was playing through pain to reach incentives or be eligible for awards.  I was clearly wrong.

This is objectively stupid.  Like, Bizarro World.  We sit all of the healthy starters and play the injured, immobile one?

Playing an injured player on back-to-back nights, when his body clearly wasn't right last night, is profoundly stupid.  It could easily lead to further aggravation, or overcompensating for the injury leading to a different lower body issue.

Good.  I retract my posts, although even considering playing him was stupid.

Makes zero sense, but what?s even wilder is that it?s a major long shot that he?s even seriously considered for a spot on the third team. I?ve not heard anyone on any of the major podcasts seriously consider him for a spot. And why would you put JB on there over someone like Jaylen Williams?

He?s just not had an All NBA year, and it?s awful management that we?re letting an injured player go out there for such a long shot.

EDIT: Good, he?s out. No reason for him to play.

He?s out so that either means the heck with the qualifying for awards or he?ll be playing the last two v Charlotte.  Probably not a great sign if he sits, but I hope it means he can heal for the playoffs (or maybe round 2).

Hard for us to speculate. There?s been concern about his knee for a while, yet he was brilliant less than a week ago v. Phoenix 31 pts in 29 minutes), and very effective in his 22 minutes v. Wiz just a few nights ago.  So if we?re talking about the same injury it?s hard to know what to expect moving forward.

Should be fun tonight with all 5 starters out.

I think he's playing the next two games. They probably don't want him to play any sort of B2Bs. After today, there's no B2Bs at all even through the playoffs obviously.

Pritchard must be the strongest dude the association has ever seen if he can dislodge Wagner like that.

When is this league actually going to crack down on flopping?
