I think we may have something with Baylor. His defense has made large strides since his performance in SL. We probably won't see him in the playoffs, but he has legit skills at 6'6 in terms of scoring and passing. If he continues to not be a turnstile on d, he will be a rotation player for us on his rookie contract.

Yeah, I've liked his activity these last few weeks. I know he's old for a rookie but he is still a rookie. If he improves at all next season he can be a rotation player.

Torrey craig is -3 for 2025.  Lonnie walker is -6.3 for 2025.  Defense is half the game.  it appears that torrey is better.

+/- across teams is meaningless.

Last 10 games Baylor is averaging 6pts, 3rebs, 2ast on 41/35/75 shooting splits. He should get a lot of burn again tomorrow against the Hornets.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Deep bench was awful today outside of Walsh. Craig 0-3, Scheierman 2-14, Davison 4-12, Peterson 1-4, Norris 0-3.

In other news, Lonnie Walker finished off the season with a 31pt performance on 11-23 shooting, 8-15 from 3pt.  :blank:

I know they gave him a contract (well-deserved for him and his Maine contributions), but yeah I just don't see it with JD on this team. Much rather use that open spot on a Yabu or Lonnie when they become available. I'm fine continuing with Peterson, Walsh and Baylor. But I guess they see something in Davison.

Brad drafted JD so I feel like he doesn?t want to give up on him. He?s still young; but I don?t see him fitting in on this team like Hauser and Pritchard were able to. Next season will be year 4. At some point you have to move on if JD can?t contribute.

and yet he was still -14.  He us not a good player. Almost as bad on d as luca.

It?s pretty clear that Lonnie is better than those guys. He?s had success in the NBA and is a career 10ppg scorer.

If Celtics have to rely on deep bench in the playoffs then that means this team has bigger problems.  Not a concern of mine.

Agreed, although I do think that Walker would have carved out some regular rotation minutes had he not been waived out of training camp.  Even if not, the regular season depth probably would have helped limit minutes here and there.

If JB misses time with his knee, Hauser is likely moving into the starting line up at SF and Schieriman is the backup. If Horford misses time, now Peterson or Tillman are backup at PF. That is not good.

We're cooked if that happens. And Kristaps is a big question mark. Worst time to get hit with the injury bug.

Makes it all the more important to close out the easy series in 4 or 5 games and not playing with their food. Getting 2023 playoff vibes again.
