Bizarre stuff here.  I really hope we're not talking a Phil Hartman murder/suicide situation here.

Authorities say the "circumstances surrounding the death" of Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa are "suspicious enough in nature" to require a thorough investigation. Earlier today, police said foul play was not suspected.

Here are new details, per the search warrant we've obtained at CNN:

* The causes of death have not been confirmed

* Gene and his wife appeared to have died days before their bodies were discovered

* They were discovered by maintenance workers

* Their bodies were found in different rooms

* Betsy was found lying on the ground in a bathroom with a space heater near her head & an open bottle of prescription pills on a countertop nearby...pills were scattered on the counter

* Their dead dog was found in the bathroom closet. (Two other dogs were found healthy elsewhere in the home.)

* Hackman?s body was discovered on the ground in another room near the kitchen. A deputy ?suspected the male individual has suddenly fallen"

* The front door was opened and unsecured, but there were no signs of forced entry or theft

* The investigation found no immediate signs of a carbon monoxide leak or natural gas leak

Incredibly strange. Dead dog in the closet?

I suppose everyone presumed CM.  But no signs and two dogs alive.
