Well here's a bomber...Bengals planning to apply the franchise tag onto Tee Higgins. They're looking to try and extend him lol.

I imagine Higgins can't be very happy about this lol

I was under the impression that he didn't want to leave Cincinnati. I think he'll be happy if he gets paid market value and can stay with Burrow and Chase. This was the main reason why I never thought Higgens was a possibility for the Patriots.

We're on to Cooper Kupp and/or DK Metcalf

Maybe Chris Goodwin?  Or is he definitely returning?

Too much money to spend on receivers and the QB.  Their OL and Defense is going to continue to be bad.  I don't see this as a formula for success.  Unless they think someone is going to bid on Higgins and then they end up with 2 first round pick if they don't match.  I think CIN would be better off with the picks.

Yeah the Bengals will soon be spending 100+ million a year between Burrow/Chase/Higgins. That's going to be over 1/3 of the cap

I'm sure they'll play salary cap games with a long term extension. Frontload the bonus, backload the thing from a salary standpoint , then convert salary to bonus down the road if necessary.

The Bengals are sort of going with a similar philosophy as the Dolphins, which is load up on the offense and with two elite WRs (Hill/Waddle; Chase/Higgins). The strategy is mainly to hope the defense does decent and that the offense can outscore the other team. But it hasn't really worked for Miami either, even though Miami still has a better defense then the Bengals. And when the offense meets any resistance, it's game over because the defense isn't shutting down the opponent

Bengals really need to focus more on defense. Even if that unit becomes average, they'll be back to being a legit contender with Burrow. But it's been so bad for them, like Burrow can put up 35+ easily and they still lost games.

Idk about you, but Gronk is considering another comeback to the NFL in uniform:

https://www.si.com/nfl/broncos/news/rob-gronkowski-eyeing-nfl-return-broncos-rumor

The Broncos are looking for a pass-catching tight-end, and Gronk could have a connection there with his interest. Also, Joe Burrow need weapons and have emphasized in the past he wanted to team up with Gronk, so the Bengals are another possibility.

Would be nice if Brady comes back too, I miss the NFL when he was still there.

Rapsheet saying it's not true. Tbh he's in great shape/health now but he's a lot skinnier than his playing days and not as "bulky" as his prime playing days. I guess if he came back and placed an emphasis on just being a pass-catcher and not really blocking (like Kelce)

Higgins with an ominous tweet yesterday, tweeting an emoji of a hat (meaning "cap" - a lie)

Maybe referencing the Bengals' GM comments from yesterday? Could the Higgins to NE dream still be alive?

Deebo Samuel to the Commanders for a 5th rounder.  I'm shocked that that's the best they could do.

Probably a 1 season rental?  Makes sense for WAS. Would make less sense for Pats. Better to sign him next off season.

Scary Terry, Jayden Daniels, Ertz, Deebo. Not too shabby.

Too bad the Pats weren?t willing to give up a 4th rounder and then pay Deebo. It?s almost like the ownership doesn?t want to spend money or something.  :P
