I have been digging into the advanced stats a little.  Going back to 2022-23, where he played in 79 games for PHX, starting 60 games, he shot 39.8% from 3 when holding the ball for <2 seconds.  He shot 30.0% from 3 when holding the ball >/=2 seconds (2 seconds or more).

He is a catch and shoot guy primarily it seems.  About 48% of his FGA (in 2022/23) were catch and shoot from 3.  About 40% of FGA were within 10' or less.  I assume that the latter is mostly drives or fast break type shots.

If he can give us something close to 40% on catch and shoot 3, and give us decent defense, sounds like this is just what the Doctor ordered.

On the defensive side, the advanced stats aren't so good.  In 2022-23 in PHX, 79 games, Craig had a DRtg of 115.5 (one of the worst on the team) while the team had a DRtg of 112.3.  In 2023-24 in CHI, 53 games, Craig had a DRtg of 118.4 (dead last on the team) while the team had a DRtg of 115.7

In each of these two seasons, Craig's individual DRtg was well below that of the team.  From this, it appears that he is weak on defense which could be a real problem.  You need to play D if you are going to be a 3&D guy.

Craig is an emergency depth guy. I'd be shocked if he's able to break into the top 9 of the rotation when everybody's healthy. But he gives you an extra body in case of injuries or rest days in the last 30 games, so that's nice.

Its worth remembering, guys signed during the buyout period almost never contribute that much.

Looking back a little more to the 2022-23 season with PHX, he played the most minutes in a line up with Booker, Payne, Bridges, and Ayton (241 minutes).  In this line up, he was the PF, much like Tatum is usually.  That line up was -10 on the season.  The next most used line up (229 minutes) was Craig with 2 bigs, Okogie and Ayton, so Craig would be a more traditional SF (what I believe is his natural position).  This line up was +60 on the season.

If you prefer advanced stats, with Craig as the PF in the main line up, the team had a DRtg of 114.3.  Craig as a SF with the alternate 2-big line up, the team had a DRtg of 107.1.  Even this is a fairly small sample size but what this says is that the team was a whole lot better with Craig defending as a SF/Wing than when he is trying to defend as a PF/Big.  He is listed at 6'-7".  Sounds like BOS intends to use him as a wing/SF.  That may mitigate some of the defensive problems.

Does this mean Megan the stallion becomes our Taylor Swift?
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Weirdly I found measurements of him from height 6'8" to 6'3" and a wingspan 6'9" to 6'6"... weight 221 to 215...

He looks like the size of Jaylen.

When did we sign PJ Brown back in the '08 title season ?

That is reassuring. I do expect him to compete for minutes with Hauser, likely ahead of Walsh and Peterson for backup wing minutes, especially in the playoffs where vet playoff experience counts.
