The Celtics need a better understanding of what makes a good 2 for 1. Tatum was trying to push it ahead likely to get the 2 for 1, but if you rebound the ball with 35.5 pushing for a shot is a bad idea. You needs to shoot it with 33+ seconds left to get enough time on the back end, if you need to rush the first shot that quickly a 2 for 1 becomes dumb.

Tell Joe that.  He just wants to look at a piece of paper and say that we won the margins.  More shot attempts for the game.  Even if it's clear the shots we generate on some of the 2 for 1s are just awful possessions.

I?d say 70% of the league and most non Celtics fans feel this way about Tatum, he?s simply not respected and tbh he is kinda soft?still a first team all nba player but yeah

yet he is 3rd in votes for the all star game.

All Star game is a beauty pageant.

This teams record is better without porzingis.

Tatum just blew atire on that dunk. He was also fouled, but he was going to come up short anyway.

Refs stop our fast break with a 24 second call when we have the ball. We aren't playing well but refs are calling it one way..

He clearly was fouled. The refs are sucking hard. The charge on Jure, that steal on PP... Just a long list of blown calls.

Not sure how they're going to win the non-Tatum minutes but they're going to have to do it.

He raised his arms for every missed shot. He will never get the call if he keeps doing that.

See keev, what you are suggesting would require a high basketball IQ and an ability to make consistent smart decisions with the ball, neither of which our two all-stars have ever demonstrated in abundance. Dumb players & dumb coach.

TBH I don't think Joe is telling tatum to make a bad pass in that situation. Its just a mistake, it happens.

I'm speaking of their overall approach to the game and how bad basketball is consistently allowed to happen apparently without correction.
The fact that for three seasons now, our ONLY last-shot (quarter, half or game) play is to stand around the perimeter and watch Tatum go one-on-five with no movement or off-ball screening or anything except a contested fall-away jumper is an example of my point. THAT is bad basketball.

What's even more frustrating is that it's not like we're just putting Brown or Porzingis out there by themselves. Like, the non-Tatum minutes are almost always with at least three starters out there against a mixed bench group for the other team. It's a major, major problem that we can't even hold our own against those units without Tatum.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

DWhite remains MIA.  Our defense is still too soft.

Opened the quarter with a broken possession.  Another major defensive breakdown.
