Here's one that's been getting more so with me over the years: Super Bowl ads.
Nothing to do with the Super Bowl (or the topic at hand) but at this point in my life, I now have a major gripe with ads.
Like many people now, the only live TV I watch is sports, and so I have to sit through the commercials that come with it, no big deal for the most part, usually basic stuff (commercials for cars, cell phones, pharmaceutical drugs, etc.), except for the horror movie trailers.
I have a toddler and I'm on the west coast, so a lot of games are on during those early evening home hours of 5pm-8pm. Usually it's fine, me and my toddler can hang together in the living room, I watch the game while she plays with her toys. Or I can make dinner or be on my phone or play with my toddler, while half watching the game, etc. Everything's fine then BAM creepy horror movie trailer.
The amount of disturbing images (from watching sports at 7pm!) I have to try to quickly shield my toddler from (right before bed!) is too high!
I guess I'm one of those self righteous parents now, won't someone please think of the children!
