Sacramento is likely trading Fox at the deadline

Maybe the Heat and Kings can work out some sort of Fox-Butler swap? Change of scenery for all sides. Butler can maybe help SAC get into a play in spot while Miami moves on from Butler and potentially gets it?s PG of the future along with Bam, Herro and the other young guys.

Phoenix feels like the only realistic option, but that?s contingent on Beal waiving his NTC and them getting a 3rd team involved who could probably send picks to Miami

But then does Miami or another team even want Beal and his salary? I doubt it lol

I looked up Bradley Beals contract. It was a little bit better than I was guessing, if he was still playing at the level he was in Washington it wouldn't be terrible. It could be an expiring next year if he agreed to waive his player option (although he wouldn't do that unless he really hates Phoenix.

The two teams I can see for Butler are Detroit and Sacramento.  I think the Heat will end up with a very modest return, like Tobias Harris, Tim Hardaway Jr., Marcus Sasser and a #2.

Detroit is very interesting. They are a play-in team and only 2 games back of Miami too for the 6 seed. I also think Butler's style and attitude could fit in Detroit.

Another possible team I think could be Memphis. Smart, Clarke + Konchar + Pick(s) for Butler. They could go all-in with a core of Morant-Butler-Bane-JJJ for the next few years. Their bench is still pretty solid. Butler gives them not only hustle/defense but an additional spark in scoring and a playoff veteran. Memphis is the 2 seed and when healthy a legit contender. I also think MIA would be fine with a package in return like that. Smart seems like a Riley-kind of player too.

At this point, I would trade him to New Orleans for Zion. Or some other bad situation.

I think a deal with New Orleans where they send Ingram + Herb Jones + pick(s) for Butler can work. Or some iteration of Ingram + young players and picks. I doubt the Pelicans want to pay Ingram. And this way they create sort of a Big 3 with Zion/Butler/McCollum, while MIA gets Ingram and some other assets. In theory Ingram can still keep MIA competitive.

If you?re talking beef,  it?s a bad trade for Pelicans .  Big Bull for a    Scrawny steer .

I don't think I'd want to pay Butler if I were the Pels.  A 35-year old malcontent with a fading game that misses at least 1/4 of the season every year doesn't sound like a good long-term investment.

Sun's benching of Beal may be setting the tone for him to accept a trade, letting them acquire Jimmy and Beal to a third team

Any trade seems highly unlikely.  I understand that MIA is a first apron team and PHX is a second apron team.  Butler makes $48.7M, Beal makes $50.2M so I don't think this deal can happen.

It is really hard to make any trade work unless the player makes exactly what Butler makes.  My earlier idea of Butler to CLE for Garland and Okoro does work (at least per the Fanspo trade machine).  But that is the only one I have found so far.  Giannis, Lillard, and LeBron all make exactly the same as Butler.

I don't know that CLE makes that trade but it could improve their chances to win a title the next couple of years.  MIA would get back two decent, useful players, which is better than they are going to get in any deal I can come up with.  MIA has to rebuild but they would have a decent core to start with:

PG   Garland
SG   Herro
SF   Okoro
Big  Adebayo

Well you hit on the reason that NO team has traded for him yet.
