I'm genuinely starting to wonder if Embiid is also now "Kawhi-ing" or "Ben Simmons-ing" this. Like I don't deny his injuries, but are we certain he even wants to play that often anymore? Remember, even before his recent sinus fracture he was practically sitting out most games "managing" his knee. Now he's out for at least another week, and I'm sure it'll become 2-3+ weeks in no time. And are we sure once his sinus fracture is healed that he'll suddenly be playing everyday with his lingering knee issues?
I guess the argument you can make is hope he's healthy come April and go from there, but we've seen teams like the Clippers try that and it rarely works out. I think Philly is better served trading him in the offseason for multiple picks and maybe 1-2 young players to go along with Maxey, McCain, George and whoever they draft with their upcoming Top-3 pick
Given their current injuries across the roster I don't see them making a push, even over the likes of Brooklyn/Detroit/Chicago for a play-in spot
