I think Donovan Mitchell is better than a lot of people think.  Garland too.  But can they be the best players on a championship team?  I think they can.  It is definitely tougher if your two best players are this small, but that doesn't make it impossible.  Not saying they are the favorite or predicting they win a championship, a lot has to go right for any team to win a title, but they are very much in the hunt.

In today's game, you have players like Lillard, Brunson, Curry, who are small but can lead a team to title contention.  Curry is generational, of course, and Lillard appears to be past his prime, but Mitchell is in the top end of this group.

When is the last time a team won a championship when their two best players were small guards? I don?t think it?s ever happened.

Two small guards? I don?t think their two best players were 6?1 guards.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Dumars was 6-3. Him and Isaiah were not tall.

I don?t consider Dumars to be a small guard. 6/6?1 is small. 6?3/6?4 is not, IMO.

Same goes for PF. 6?7/6?8 is undersized, 6?9/6?10 is not.

How tall do you think the average shooting guard is in today's NBA?

How tall were Reggie Miller, Gerald Wilkins, Michael Jordan, & Clyde Drexler in the '89-90 playoffs?

Probably around 6?4?. I just don?t view Dumars to be small like Mitchell and Garland, who are Payton Prichard?s size.

Love the passing to start.

However, we're already giving up offensive rebounds and turnovers.

Tatum doing it all so far - 3 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals. Love his playmaking development.

Overall, love the team's energy and focus to start. Cleveland seems a bit tight and like they're feeling the moment.
