Mathurin = 24pts 13reb 3ast 2stl
McConnell = 16pts 6reb 3ast

40pts off the bench from those two.

Siakam = 16pts 4reb 2ast
Nembhard = 15pts 6ast 5reb

31pts from those two. That is 71 of the team's 91pts. Hali had 9pts in 7 minutes. That is 80 of the 91pts.

M Turner = 6pts in 24min
Nesmith = 3pts in 30min
Obi Toppin = 0pts in 20min

So the next layer of the supporting cast didn't show up offensively for Indiana. Ben Sheppard was also scoreless in 16min. Tony Bradley had 2pts in 5min.

OKC was in full swarming D mode.  Once they started dropping 3?s this thing was over.

Really too bad Haliburton went down, but I think OKC was going to be crowned last night regardless.

Even McConnell who did some heroic scoring for the Pacers to keep them breathing was subject to some uncharacteristic bad passes and strip job.  He had 7 turnovers.

One interesting was stat:  Nesmith was the Pacers only positive score on the +/- with a +6.  If he could have just found a way to stay out of foul trouble.

Anyhow?congrats to OKC.  They were the best team this year and deserving champs.  And thanks to the Pacers for testing OKC, beating the Knicks for us, playing theirs butts off, and having one of the most entertaining playoff runs I can remember.
Yup

Tatum, Lillard, Irving, and Haliburton are 4 of the top 25 players in the NBA.

Plus didn't Isaiah Jackson and James Wiseman both tear their achilles? What other players tore their achilles this year?

NBA medicine seemingly caught up with the ACL tears, but it hasn't caught up with this injury yet.

He's also the third youngest player ever to win a championship.

SGA joins Shaq, Jordan (4x), and Kareem as only players to be MVP, scoring champ, and Finals MVP in same season.

If Haliburton torn his Achilles then u can count Indiana out for next season

The east is going to be so weak that they can probably still be a top 4 team even without him.

1. CLE
2. NYK
3. ORL
4. IND

Is how I would rank it right now, but obviously a lot can change.

I think the East will be a slog. But Cleveland, Knicks, Detroit, Boston and Orlando will be the top 5 seeds in some order.

Breaking: Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton sustained a torn right Achilles tendon in Game 7 against Oklahoma City, sources tell ESPN. Haliburton played through a calf strain in the same leg during the NBA Finals for an opportunity to win a championship.

Yeah right now, assuming Orlando is fully healthy and with Bane now added, they have a good shot at being the #1 or 2 seed in the East. Overall though, there's no "invincible" team in the East. I mean, it's possible a team like Cleveland actually overachieved and takes a step back. Maybe NY as well. It's also possible though a team like Philly gets back everyone, makes a few moves this offseason and are a Top-4 seed themselves. I still feel good about Boston being a Top-6 team. Worst case, a play-in.

Giannis is still in the east also.

I expect Detroit to be right there with those teams. They gave the Knicks all they could handle in the playoffs and the Pistons young players like Cade, Jaden, etc are just going to get better.

That injury was incredibly hard to watch, you could see his leg give out as the Achilles snapped. I haven't had a visceral reaction like that to an injury since watching Hayward break his leg (I try to stay away from videos like that, so that isn't saying too much)

I wonder if he'll have the surgery there or fly somewhere that has specialists. New York seems to be the best for Achilles but that's a pretty long flight. Are there any big Orthopedic hubs in Texas or the Midwest?
I'm bitter.

For now  ;)

But even if he stays, Lillard will also miss significant time like Tatum and I guess they could still be a playoff team, but not a Top-4 team IMO

I don't mean to nit pick, but this thread is the 2024-25 season which just ended.

Time to start a 2025-26 thread.
