Wow, Sacramento have no good matchup for Anthony Davis. D Sabonis is too slow and unathletic to check AD. Then they have small finesse forwards in DeRozan and Keegan Murray. Neither one of those guys can handle AD in the paint.

AD can cook these guys.

Why is AD dribble the ball through his legs at the halfway line for 8 seconds against Sabonis? The halway line!!!!

Pass the ball ahead. Get into the midpost. Receive the pass. Face up and drive on Sabonis' slow butt.

I did not realize Malik Monk was injured. Significant loss for Sacramento.

I love the way Devin Carter plays defense but I am not sure how much value he has here without the Mavs guards initiating the offense. They are playing off ball and sitting in the corner or wing. D Carter has little opportunity to use his on-ball pressure defense. And his offense is bad at this point in his career.

I think Sacramento would be better off with an offensive guard given this situation. This is where Malik Monk would have been so valuable. He'd have a major matchup advantage right now against the Mavs guards.

Good game between Kings and Mavs. Hoping Sacramento wins.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

These two, Dave Pasch & Tim Legler, should be ESPN's first choice commentators.

I like Brandon Williams. Similar player to Rob Dillingham who was a top 10 pick in last year's draft. Dallas got Brandon Williams out of the G League. Great pickup.

Fast, good driver, good shooter, can put up points in a hurry.

Sabonis has barely been a factor in this game.

Not a defender. Not able to create his own shot consistently against the Mavs quality big man defenders (AD, Lively, Gafford). Limited to being a rebounder and a passer.

Not what you want for your best player. He should be a 3rd option. Not the main man or even the #2 guy on a team. 3rd option level talent.

Kings bench is pathetic. The only guy on there I trust is Jonas Valanciunas. They have used T Lyles and D Carter. They won't use anybody else because the other guys are even worse.

They are even starting Keon Ellis. I don't trust him much either. Certainly not for long minutes. Short minutes okay. So they only really got 4 starters + 1 bench player that are dependable contributors tonight. Not good.

2 of AD's 3 buckets (3-10 FGA) have come when he has pinned Keegan Murray in the paint. Keep going to that. No way Keegan Murray can defend AD. K Murray can't defend regular PFs. Heck, he struggles physically against powerful SFs. Nevermind a guy like AD who is 250lbs PF/C. He can't do it. Attack him.

Hard not to pull for the Mavs at this point.

DeRozan's layup cut it to a 13pt deficit with 2:38 to play in the half. Dallas go on a 10-0 run to push the lead to 23pts.

This game looks over.

I did not realize Sacramento had beaten Dallas in all of their regular season games this season.

This has got to hurt right now. First time they lose to them all year and it is the play-in game.

There are times when I look at Trey Lyles and I wonder why he is an NBA player.

He is not skilled enough or athletic enough to play the PF position since they position went much smaller and more skilled since Lyles entered the league. Nor is Lyles big enough or good enough defensively to play the center position. And it is not like he is providing enough offense either to make up for his lack of interior D at the center position.

I do not understand how he is still a rotation player in the league. I am not even sure he is good 3rd stringer. I'd rather have someone more skilled or more athletic defensively at PF. Or someone bigger who protects the paint better defensively at C.

T Lyles is this tweener big man without a clear role.

Sabonis has only 7pts through 3 quarters. He also has 5 turnovers vs his 4 assists. No-show performance by Sabonis.

He rarely plays up to snuff in the playoffs. He couldn't take advantage of the GSW 2 years when they had no quality center to oppose him.

If he wants to be considered a top player, he must play better in the playoffs. This isn't good enough.

DeRozan showed up but neither of D Sabonis or Z LaVine did. Keegan Murray was quiet too.
