Shams Charania: Just In: Houston Rockets center Steven Adams has agreed to a three-year, $39 million contract extension to stay with the franchise, sources tell ESPN. After playing a key rotation and leadership role in the Rockets? playoff run, the new deal keeps a top center out of free agency.  via x.com

Different types of players, but Adams has similar games played/missed due to injuries over the last 3-4 seasons. Might be a comp for Zinger's next contract.
That's a hell of a lot of money for someone who played 13.7mpg and scoring 3.9pts per game.  If that's the standard, Zinger is worth at least double that.

3/39M for Steven Adams is a lot more than I expected. Wonder if that's a sign for FA and the center market. Hope I'm wrong but I think Kornet may actually get interest this offseason and get a decent offer from someone.

Durant has been essentially a net negative asset since leaving Golden State. He puts up great numbers, but it doesn't translate to winning.

I believe someone on X brought this up recently and Durant responded. Durant mentioned his stats and winning gold medals. I think he fails to recognize that he is just another player on a loaded Olympic team. On an NBA team, he is the #1 option, and that's when it doesn't translate to winning.

I absolutely wanted KD in the summer of free agency before he ultimately went to Golden State. Now, I wouldn't want to give up the assets to trade for him.

If KD goes to Minnesota, he won?t have to be the #1 option. If he?s trying to win, that would be a good place for him to go.

I don't understand what Minnesota is meant to give up to get Durant. Randle is a free agent.

Would be the main piece. Maybe Dillingham and another role player. A first round pick.

Ian Begley: One thing worth noting on potential Kevin Durant trades: there are important Suns voices who want to add a starting-caliber C this offseason. There are several pathways to do this but KD trade obviously gives PHX the clearest path to one.

Saw where Durant three preferred teams are Houston, San Antonio & Miami

Don?t know what Miami can offer unless they trade Ware & Jasquez which they want to keep

Suns best bet is try get KAT from NY, Randle from Minnesota or Green from Houston?I don?t like the spurs deal unless they get second pick
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

What are the Suns trying to accomplish?  Getting KAT or Randle aren't moves for championship caliber teams and they aren't rebuild moves either.  Rockets and Spurs would be stupid to offer Green or the #2 pick respectively.

Bane to Orlando.  Orlando is giving up a lot, but I like the move for the Magic.

Good for Bane.  Grizzlies weren't doing anything with Morant as their star.  Good for the Magic.  That is a lot to give up but Orlando clearly sees the weakness in the East and the Thunder aren't that imposing either.  Bane should be a great fit.  I assume they'll work an extension with Moritz Wagner rather than picking up his option.  They'll be in a salary crunch after next season when Banchero gets paid.

They went all in on Bane with the thought that the East would be a lot less tougher with Boston missing JT for most of the season. Let?s see how this pans out. That?s a lot to give up for Bane.

It sounds like Miami wants to get rid of Jaquez this summer. His lack of outside shooting continues to be a problem. They started playing bigger with Ware & Bam starting together. They have backup PFs already in Kyle Anderson and Jovic. So Jaquez has to play SF where he is getting beaten out by Larsson & Highsmith (Wiggins as starter). There is no clear role on the team for Jaquez. Sounds like they want to cash in for whatever they can get for him in the off-season.

Orlando adding Bane to the Wagner brothers and Banchero is lowkey nasty though.

Orlando should very well be a high seed in the East next year (Top-3)

Can't help but wonder what the Grizzles are doing. They got a big return, but it really feels like they are setting up for another move.

Memphis got a haul back from Desmond Bane; if the Celtics were/are truly hearing offers for Derrick White, can he command the same type of package? Two solid rotation players, a swap, and four unprotected firsts
