G-dubs finally got the win over the Broncic. This series in the playoffs would be entertaining and tough for them

My boy, Ja Morant, is at it again.
And after all his suspensions and problems with the league office, he is actually defiant about his gun gestures this week.
What a complete moron this guy is.

As I said a couple years ago, the Grizz should have traded him while his value was still high.

Feel like the Cs are going to get Orlando in the first round.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are on the verge of setting a slew of NBA records.

* The Thunder could reach the 70-win plateau
* are set to set a new record for point differential
* and could set a record for net rating, as well.

* In addition, Oklahoma City has already set the mark for best record against the opposing conference, as the Thunder have gone 28-1 against the Eastern Conference with one game remaining.

They have two games coming up against the Lakers. Hopefully they will want to continue trying to break records and will stomp them. I of course always love to see the Lakers lose. That GSW loss was sweet

Lakers FT differentials

Quote
Pre-AD trade (45 games):

Lakers: 22.9 FTA
Opponents: 18.5 FTA

Post-AD trade (31 games):

Lakers: 23.5 FTA
Opponents: 23.9 FTA

That is interesting. They always had huge FTA differentials during the LeBron & AD era.

Their defense has actually been better post AD. It has improved from 114.6 with AD to 112.8 without him. Despite that, the FTAs they have conceded have gone way up. +5.4 FTAs conceded per game. Amazing that their defense is still performing better despite giving up that many extra FTs.

AD was a cheat code for the Lakers vs. GSW, but now they don't have him and they have no real center so that kind of reduces the gap between the two teams IMO. It looked clear yesterday, GSW was outhustling them and outrebounding them.

Yeah Doncic and some of their guys had bad shooting nights, but also I hope these West teams are learning, if you attack Doncic on defense he'll wear out. Curry and Pod were cooking him all night long. I hope these West teams aren't stupid this postseason and actually exploit him defensively, don't let him hide on that end.

Butler also gives them a legit #2 piece alongside Curry, so there's a bit less pressure on Curry and Draymond to have to do way more than usual. Klay was just washed the last two seasons, now they have Butler

If they don't make the WCF, they need to trade him. They can still build something with JJJ, Bane and others, but I feel Morant is a bit inconsistent and then obviously there's all the off-court drama involved with him. Also, how's the coach firing working out for them? (hint: not much has changed)

What type of trade return could Memphis get for Ja Morant at this point?

I am unsure whether they can get a good enough return to make it worthwhile trading him. I would like to move him if I were in their shoes because I love the rest of the roster. I feel Morant is the one letting them down at the moment - letting them down on the court, not this PR stuff which only makes it worse.

Some ideas

ATL = Trae for Morant
CHA = LaMelo for Morant = reset button for both squads
CLE = Garland for Morant = bad for both teams?
HOU = VanVleet & Amen Thompson for Morant
MIA = T Herro for Morant = crap trade
NYK = Jalen Brunson for Morant
ORL = F Wagner for Morant
PHI = Tyrese Maxey for Morant = downgrade for MEM
PHO = D Booker for Morant = balances Suns roster
POR = A Simmons + Scoot for Morant = rebuilding trade

I don't think Orlando trades F Wagner for Morant. They have a big emphasis on "character". I imagine they would be reluctant to give up anything of big value for Morant.

The New York one is fun. You would be trading for an inferior player in the present moment but getting a younger PG and a guy who has been touted as a possible "face of the league". The wannabe Iverson of this generation. Morant could make NY grand central of NBA commentary for the next 8-10 years. A highlight machine. A talented player. A longer window for building a contender. His game would also be very interesting next to Towns. And Bridges & Anunobdy would likely do better off an athletic slasher like Ja than a more ball-dominant iso player like J Brunson. Then again, Brunson brought the franchise back from the ashes and is beloved by them. An interesting contrast of motivations.

Portland need a PG. They love their mix at SG, SF, PF, and C. I am sure they would be interested in Morant. Morant, S Sharpe, T Camara, D Avdija, J Grant, D Clingan. Good mix. Very athletic. A bit similar to what Memphis did with Morant.

He?s clearly immature, but I?m not sure they need to trade Morant. I don?t recall him having any other issues this year other than the stupid finger gun after he makes a shot. Also, his teammates seem to like him and the Grizzlies are making the playoffs regularly.

Always has been, seems like he always will be.

I am sure the hope in Memphis was that Morant would mature into a leader, but that does not seem to be the case.

What I find hilariously sad is that Morant is actually just playing a gangster, the same way a rich white kid pretends to be poor because it is cool. From what I have read, Ja grew up in a loving middle class two parent home in South Carolina.
