Fan Duel have a channel on youtube called Run It Back with Chandler Parsons, Lou Williams and Michelle Beadle. DeMarcus Cousins is there a lot as well. Some short anaylsis / clips + interivews. 15-25min interviews with NBA people. Looks a good channel. Most of the short videos analysis are more fun than serious analysis but their ex-NBA players give good thoughts. Better than ESPN for sure. The interviews look interesting. Shorter than 1-2hr podcast style interviews.

https://www.youtube.com/@RunItBackFDTV/videos

They had Sean Elliott on talking about Wemby in an 25min interview. He was gushing over Wemby. Not just his skills or his size & athleticism but in particular Wemby's mentality. I hadn't heard this stuff before. Elliott talked about how competitive Wemby is. His will to win. How driven he is. How hard he works to improve his game. Also talked about Wemby playing through injuries & sickness. He was talking about these facets of Wemby that makes Elliott think Wemby can surpass D-Robinson and T-Duncan.

Lou Williams said it took him 2 years to feel himself after his ACL tear. That would make Kyrie 35 years old.

Lou was 26 when he tores his ACL.

It depends wildly on the individual player, I think.  It also probably depends on whether they're using illegal PEDs.

So we'll be seeing Kyrie on a trip to Germany soon?

Nico Harrison released the following statement a few after the Dallas Mavericks announced that Kyrie Irving would be out for the remainder of the season with a torn ACL.

?There aren?t words to fully describe who Kyrie Irving is to this team or what he means to us as an organization,? stated Harrison.

?Kyrie is the heart and soul of this team, and he has embraced the city of Dallas as his home and our fans as an extension of his own family. I?ve been fortunate to have witnessed his journey, his continued evolution and growth over the years, and am incredibly grateful to have the opportunity to see him approach the game of basketball with the same energy and fierce passion for the game that he did as a young man on the verge of his career. His work ethic and absolute dedication to his craft, it?s cut from the cloth of greats. I know it, I lived it, and I see the same ferocity and passion in him that I saw in Kobe.

?All my thoughts and that of our staff are with Kyrie and his family, and we are confident that he will come back from this stronger than ever just like he always has.?

Pointed statement against Luka?

Jaxson Hayes looking like Bam Adebayo out there. They're doing all this without Austin Reaves too, jeez.

They were playing the Pelicans lol. The way you gush over everything the Lakers is do is performance art at this point. The Rockets have another loss, this time with their guys playing. The clippers blow an 18 point 4th quarter lead. The Warriors win on the road in New York. But nope, story of night is the Lakers taking care of business against a team that has won 17 games all season and traded away Ingram to tank.  ::)

Rockets still missing VanVleet

Houston are now 30 wins 16 losses for a 53-54 win pace with VanVleet in the lineup and only 7 wins 9 losses in their 16 games without VanVleet for a 36 win pace.

They have missed him badly. He is their on court leader. He organizes their offense for them. HOU do not trust their backup PGs of A Holiday & R Sheppard.

Jalen Green is a bad decision maker for a SG. He is been forced to be their main playmaker & floor general with VanVleet out. The results have not been good.

Their lineup hasn't look right with Amen Thompson at guard since Jabari Smith Jr came back at PF. Amen doesn't have the long range shooting to stretch the court. Things are too congested. Another important facet of what VanVleet brings to the table for their offense.

Houston have lots of depth on the wing and at PF. They can replace guys well when someone at those positions go down with an injury. Harder to replace their PG or C. But even at C, they have S Adams and Jock Landale. PG might be their toughest spot to replace a starter due to how weak their backup PGs are.

VanVleet has been good but not great (inefficient volume scoring / shooting). It is not all his brilliance. It is the weakness of his replacements. Their inability to cope without him.

More Rockets.

I was looking at Jalen Green's monthly splits last night during their game. Man, that guy is inconsistent game to game or month to month.

He has the raw talent to be a superstar. Good size. Great quickness and shiftiness off the dribble. Just not enough precision in his shot making ... and lack of progress in fixing this.

October = 5 games 27.7ppg on 57.1% TS%
November = 15 games 16.6ppg on 49.6% TS%
December = 12 games 19.3ppg on 54.7% TS%
January = 15 games 25.7ppg on 60.3% TS%
February = 12 games 22.5ppg on 53.2% TS%
March = 3 games 18ppg on 51.6% TS%

It looked like he had started slow in November and was trending up in Dec & Jan, then he crashes back down in February and continues to struggle in March.

On the season, his TS% is 54.9%. League average is somewhere around 57.5%. So a good bit below league average. His 54.9% is largely in line with his career average of 54.3%. This is his 4th season. 54.7%, 53.8%, 54.1%, and now 54.9%. Not much progress there.

Despite being Houston's main ball-handler for the 16 games VanVleet has been out, Jalen Green is only averaging around 4 assists a game against 3 turnovers a game. His season averages are more like 3 assists and 2.5 turnovers. So not doing much more in terms of playmaking despite HOU desperately needing him to do so + with the team giving him much more of the ball during games.

Tantalizing potential but still struggling to put it together. A season that is more disappointing than encouraging for Jalen Green.

TP Who for the info. I had known the rockets have had some guys in and out of the lineup, but had not realized the impact of FVF. I had been puzzled by how poorly they have played at times. It seems like a lot of the teams out West have been fading due in large part to injuries. Mavericks have been destroyed by losing Doncic of course, but they still would have been a good team if they had Irving, Klay, Washington, Lively, Davis, Gafford available. Minnesota has been really struggling without Gobert and Randle. Rockets have had all sorts of guys in and out and the Grizzlies have very rarely been healthy this season. This has allowed teams like the Lakers and Grizzlies to really play a lot of undermanned squads and fatten up their records. Only team that just seems to suck and be mostly healthy of the "contenders" is the Clipppers.

I wouldn?t be surprised if both the T-Wolves and Warriors pass the Rockets.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

[dang], she?s cold.  :-X

Jeanie Buss: We gave up a lot to get Luka Dončić. We?re happy we have him. We have lost the last three years in a row to the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs, and we really didn?t have anything that was going to look different going into the playoffs again. Anthony Davis was complaining about where he was being played and he wasn?t happy. So I think this was a positive for both teams. They got what they were looking for; we got what we were looking for.

Jeanie Buss: What was happening with my brother and the general manager was that they had made the decision that once Kobe [Bryant] was retired they were going to let the team fall all the way down to the bottom and collect draft picks. Well, [our father] never ran the team that way. He didn?t want to do a rebuild. What I saw was our fan base beginning to erode, losing faith. My brother and I were butting heads on that. I kept saying, I can?t raise ticket prices if we?re not winning. And we just went season after season after season. And I?m like, I?ve lost patience with this. I had to make the very tough decision to let my brother go. via Texas Public Radio

Denver vs Sacramento

Two offensive teams that can't defend each other. A lot of buckets in this one. Sacramento giving DEN problems.
