I thought one of the advantages  of having a 12-star deep team is being able to go away from guys who aren't playing well without any dropoff in talent

This. There?s a ton of guys playing awful out there today, yet we?re leaving a consecutive three-time 1st Team NBA player on the bench for a DNP.

It has been this way for a couple of tournaments now. Everything in the NBA is built around the primary ball-handler in the PnR. Most of these guys are used to being that ball-handler. They don't know how to function in a different offensive setup or role.
