I think he comps pretty nicely with Dalton Knecht.

Baylor 23yrs old
6'6" 205lbs
18.5ppg, 9rbs, 1.9ast
45% / 38%(3) / 88%(FT)

Knecht 23yrs old
6'5" 204lbs
21.7ppg, 4.9, 1.7ast
46% / 40%(3) / 77%(FT)

The main difference is Baylor shot it 14 attempts per game, Knecht shot it 16.  So he made one more bucket per game.

FTAs were 3.2. (Baylor) to 5.7 (Knecht), so Dalton drew one extra shooting foul per game too.  He might be a little more aggressive on drives than Baylor.

Still, those two are pretty comparable.  One went with the 17th pick, the other went with the 30th pick in the draft.

I think Knecht is more athletic but they are pretty close....

Decided to compare Sam and Payton's final years in college with Baylor's.

Sam (age-23) FG%-.503; 3P%-.417; TRB-6.8; AST-1.8
BAS (age-23) FG%-.448; 3P%-.381; TRB-9.0; AST-3.9
PP   (age-22) FG%-.468; 3P%-.415; TRB-4.3; AST-5.5

Yeah, Scheierman strikes me as a hybrid of Sam and Payton...

...but who is a much better rebounder.

Tatum and Brown are also excellent rebounders, so Baylor will fit nicely amongst our wings.

I believe Scheierman is his first time using a first round pick to take a prospect.  The others have all been traded away!

To be fair, after celebrating our first championship in ages, it was definitely worth it.

I've tried to watch some of the Celtics summer league games, just to see this kid play. I have to say, his shooting form is awful. I'm also surprised by the number of airballs I have seen from him in just 3 games. On the plus side he has good court awareness, passes and rebounds well, and hustles.

Baylor's been spending most of the time camped out in the corner and hoisting weak last second 3s....He needs some plays run for him.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

He's the kind of guy that will play very well off of our main guys. Summer League highlights kind of street ball pick up game players. Scheierman looks like he's rushing his shot. Maybe he's working on speeding up his release. I seem to remember Hauser doing that at one point and he was in a slump for a bit.

Not impressed so far, on either end of the floor. Will be interesting to see how he does in the G-league.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I think so to,  he plays correct , like Hauser he needs time to get settled.  Adjusted to nba .It was like 10 on 3 against Mavs , the rookies were overmatched

Not seen all the games, but what I did see I wasn't that impressed with Scheierman so far. I think there's precisely zero chance he cracks the rotation based on his current level of competence. Obviously it's just summer league and everyone else is trying to impress, but I think he himself was trying a little too hard. I think some time in the G-league will do him good.

The guy I've been most impressed with, other than Queta and Peterson who has been in the program for a year already, is that kid Anton Watson. I think he's definitely showing some promise.
