Our newest Celtic! Lets hope Brad found another cheap Sam Hauser, for when we get priced out of Sam Hauser.

Downside of this pick:  potentially years of spelling errors.  The "three consecutive vowel" thing is always tricky.

But seriously, I like the pick.  I just have no luck or ability in determining which prospects will hit, and which won't.

Elite range and great shooter. Will pair nicely with Sam for at least a year.

His age and experience makes me feel like he might be in the rotation at some point.

His rebounding is really good as is his feel for the game and passing.

IMO when Brad saw he wasn't going to be able to move down he went with the guy he knew that could help them immediately. He can be a replacement for Sam and honestly his all around game is better than Sam's and for sure Brissett.

I really like the pick. I wouldn?t be surprised if Joe gives him a chance to crack the rotation sooner rather than later. He looks like he?s NBA ready.

Scheierman and Hauser are both great shooters but one is a big guard and one is a small forward. Scheierman has guard skills, dribbling, passing, and driving that Sam doesn't. Scheierman is a movement shooter which Sam is still working on. They will complement each other. I'm glad we have both.

Hauser played great defense in the playoffs. That will likely be the difference between these two at least at first.

I wasn't thrilled at first, but since have had the chance to read scouting reports and am coming around.  One of the pluses is his ball handling, so, I'll throw it out there, is Pritchard gone?  Seems Baylor may have similar skill set but bigger.

I?ve been saying for a while that Pritchard is the one most likely to leave us this year, and have said so again after the Scheierman pick.  I think more likely, however, that Payton stays until the deadline to make sure that Scheierman (and Springer) are capable enough of filling his role.  Also that lets us have more info on what role we?d need from a player coming back.

That said, the offseason move I?d look out for, especially if Tillman and Kornet both get more money elsewhere, is Pritchard for Mark Williams.

I think the current squad gets a fair shake from the front office for at least a couple of months into the season.

I also think about Pritchard. I haven?t heard any rumors, but there is the idea that he may want more playing time somewhere else. If not, happy to have him back.

I don't think this pick was made with the idea of replacing anyone. I think Stevens picked a player he thought was good at basketball, was a good man, and would fit Mazz's system.

The rest will play itself out.

He may have been bpa, but I wanted a big guy and would have preferred Filipowski. Big man is just a bigger need on team.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

I agree, but the net effect will be that somebody is gone so it will look like a replacement. Svi likely does not return and I feel that would be a very good replacement at least for the first few months of the season as Kernewek said above.

I was thinking about Filipiwski too?at the end of the day, this late in the draft, you think about who is good enough to stay in the NBA
