I feel sorry for Bronny with all the pressure on him but he is not an NBA player & never will be..after James retires Bronny will be playing overseas..we all know why Lakers pick him

I don't know how I feel about his situation.

On the one hand, I think all of the media pressure is unfair for a late second rounder who, quite frankly, just isn't all that good.

At the same time, Bronny chose this.  He came out of school before he was ready.  Instead of being his own man, he signed with the same agency that his father basically runs.  He forced his way to the same organization.  He refused to sign a 2-way deal.  That's all on him.

There have been several second-generation NBA players.  None of them took the shortcuts that Bronny did.  If he ultimately makes it in the NBA, nobody will hold his path against him.  However, if he flames out, there's always going to be the question of whether he could have stuck around in the league if he'd busted his ass, developed at college, and had been drafted on his own merits.

Bronny is the victim of his father?s selfishness.   It?s all on LeBron.  It will be a miracle, when Bronny has left the NBA he turns out to have some sort of normal life.   LeBron should have made Bronny earn the NBA admission on his own, otherwise it will a catastrophe he is laying on his son when Bronny wakes up out of this dream and discovers he isn? even close to being a NBA player.   I hope he avoids drugs and mentally cope with the ultimate letdown this situation is going to unfold as. He is being made a buffoon by his father.   Hope he can survive .  Bron can buy him a Ferrari Dealership in LA or any other business. So , what does he do , put Bronny in the position he can?t possibly succeed or live up to.  It?s almost criminal.

That is a nice way to put it = A youtube video title says Bronny has the pressure of a #1 overall pick.

The amount of scrutiny he gets. The media attention. The demands of the fans who want him on the court. Like he was the #1 pick.

If he doesn't have the cardiac issue, I'd bet he went top five if not #1.  That where it was all heading until his heart problem.

Wait. What?  This is the first I?ve heard of that kind projection.  Top five pick?  I just don?t recall that and Bronny in the same sentence.  Place send link for that. I?m not saying it isn?t so, just don?t recall anything like that.

At one point during his senior season in HS, ON3 had Bronny ranked ninth overall.  In his senior year, he averaged 14.2 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.8 steals per game. I guarantee, you go back a few years and you'd find mock drafts with Bronny in top 5.

Also, let's not forget, he was receiving scholarship offers at the age of 11 and in 2016 he had legit offers from Duke and Kentucky.

BTW, ON3 was founded by the same guy who founded Rivals and 247 in case you're sitting there wondering who the heck ON3 is.

I'll stick by my OP.

Junior actually had a pretty good game yesterday. At least showed why he could make it in the league getting 3 blocks and 2 steals (also had 5 rebounds). Lakers were +8 with him in the game and -12 when he was on the bench. As Who pointed out earlier in this thread, Bronny has a NBA body and legit defensive skills.  His shot needs works,  but he at least provides NBA level defense already. Time will tell if he gets the shooting up enough, but he certainly could.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

His defense does look good. I'm concerned about his offense though. You can't be a passive offensive player at the NBA level. You have to be an active shooter, cutter, and rebounder if you are not a big or on-ball guard. Bronny looks timid right now.

Even in professional hoops it takes two to tango. I'm sure if Bronny didn't want to pursue basketball he wouldn't be.

Yeah.  There will always be overbearing fathers.  At some point, the son needs to take agency over his own life.

I didn't see him fighting for any rebounds under the basket or anywhere else so those 5 rebounds are very misleading. More often than not the ball just happened to land in his hands. His defense needs a lot of work and he was a turnstile on several plays. He can't score off his dribble yet instead of moving around trying to get open he stood in the corner most of the time. Nobody passed the ball to him because they are in the summer league to make an impression. Passing to a passive player who shouldn't even be on the court isn't going to impress anybody. He doesn't even look interested. He's not ready yet to even play in the summer league let alone the NBA. His father should be ashamed of himself. But his ego is very big and he wants everybody to see Jr make a lob to him for a dunk. Wait until you see ESPN when that happens. lol Jr has had everything handed to him so far. Nobody drafted him because he wouldn't accept a 2 way contract, so the lakers give him 4 years @ 8 million knowing James will sign too. It wouldn't surprise me to see Jr start in game 1 of the regular season or at the very least be the 6th man off the bench. Complete and utter farce.

I just watched a sequence where 4 Lakers players all made nice hustle plays on both ends, touched the ball, a guy missed the shot and then Bronny was the 5th guy who came in and completely whiffed on an open tip-in.

And yet all Doris and ESPN did was praise Bronny for his hustle on the court and "instincts" even though it was all the others and Bronny didn't do a thing besides the attempted tip-in ::)

I had to do a double take because they showed her speaking with JJ Reddick too and I was like "huh he still commentates for ESPN"?? But it was just a guest interview with the coach Reddick
