As if I didn't need more reasons to hate the Lakers... now it seems ESPN and every national news outlet is gonna post anything and everything they can about Bronny. My friend has ESPN notifications on his phone and he told me that the last 4-5 in a row were all Bronny-related  ::)

Yep Bronny steals the ball, Bronny scores first basket, LeBron comments about his first basket all on the first page of ESPN it?s ridiculous.

Same as Knecht who was 3 of 12

Knecht is going to be a better player than James in my opinion.

Agreed, he's gonna surpass Lebron James

ESPN needs to get their head out of their rear end at some point if they want to maintain some sort of relevancy and ratings. Nobody is buying this Bronny hype

Hating on Lebron is one thing but he's actually box office and a true Hall of Famer. There's a reason he's always compared with Michael Jordan and only Jordan.

This Bronny hype though is gonna become real nauseating and pathetic. I bet you even when he's on the bench in a "Thanasis" role ESPN will still post clips of him and whatever he does or the interactions with his dad. Ugh.

I made a comment before the draft that this could start looking like one of those feel good stories where the child with disabilities ?waterboy/mascot? gets to play in a token game and scores a few points if the media doesn?t reel themselves in.

Bronny isn?t disabled, but sadly, that?s exactly how it?s turning out.

Kel'el Ware of the Miami Heat

Quote
Ware went cold in the middle of the game, but his size at 7-feet with a 7-foot-5 wingspan was on display throughout the contest.

Ware, 20, finished his first summer league game with 12 points on 5-of-12 shooting from the field and 0-of-3 shooting on threes, six rebounds and five blocks in 24 minutes.

?Five blocks,? Heat player development coach and summer league head coach Dan Bisaccio said when asked about Ware?s summer league debut. ?For Kel?el, that?s something that we knew he can do. We were definitely emphasizing that a lot, his rim protection. We want him going and contesting everything he can. There were a lot of positives that we?re going to take away from this game for him.?

But Ware started slow on the offensive end, beginning 1 of 8 from the field and 0 of 3 on threes. He made his first shot of the game ? a 7 foot jumper ? and then missed his next seven shots.

Ware found a rhythm in the fourth quarter, totaling 10 points in the final period.

?My shot wasn?t falling today,? Ware said. ?So I wanted my defense to shine more than my offense today. I feel like I did that.?

Ware seems like a big wildcard for Miami entering next season. Whether he can be a contributor or not. Can he do a D Lively? Or will he be a lesser but effective backup center? Or not ready at all and spend most of the season as a 3rd stringer?

I think Ware is a guy to keep an eye on in SL.

The most epic 4pt, 2-9, 0-3 from 3, 0-2 FT shooting debut ever.

And he has his own highlights package! In contrast to his less heralded teammates who scored more points than him.

I'm surprised they managed to stretch it to 2 1/2 mins...maybe they included the misses  :police:

I am excited about Bronny = to see whether he can make it or not.

He has some good things going for him. He has a legit NBA body and NBA athleticism. He play NBA quality defense. It is offense that is going to be question mark for him moving forward. Can he develop that 3 ball to a good enough level to stay on the court? Of all things to develop, that is one of the easier ones.

I like his chances. To become a defensive guard off the bench. LAL had similar success with Caruso when he went there. D Melton is another similar type of player. Gabe Vincent on the Lakers team today is another one. Gabe probably has the most ball-handling skills and shot-creation of the three of them. Melton the least. Caruso in the middle. Caruso's jump-shot was further along when he entered the league but it was still a work in progress. Melton was probably just as bad of a shooter.

Looked up Melton's college stats. Interestingly enough he also went to USC. He only average 8.3ppg and 3.5apg. Shot only 28% from 3. Caruso averaged 5.5ppg and 3.4apg as a freshman. He played 4 years at college. Never averaged more than 8-9ppg. He did average 5apg a game though in each of his final 3 years. That hasn't translated to the NBA. Like Bronny, Caruso struggles to get separation off the dribble. Lacks explosive burst & high end handles.

Anyway, I will be rooting for Bronny. I want to see him succeed. I think he has a good shot at it too. NBA body. NBA defense. Just needs to get that jumper to a good enough level. I don't see him ever being a creative player (ball-handler, playmaker, shot creator) but he can be a 3+D guard if he can develop that 3 ball. Even just to 33-35% so he can stay on the floor. He has 2-3 years to develop it before teams start giving up on him. Good window.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Springer and Walsh have progressed.
Me too. Springer has been in the NBA 4 years already so I expect more progress from him. I do like Walsh but he still seems a bit lost on the court and has that deer-in-the-headlights look to him. I?m not sure he can carve out even 5-10 mpg (he is a SF) behind Hauser and possibly behind Sheierman too.

Springer has been in the NBA three years, not four.  He?s also two years younger than Scheierman, so he certainly has time to make a leap in ability.  The question is whether that will happen with the Celtics.
