I really don?t get why they need to drag out the second round into another day.

It?s 2 minutes between picks. That?s an hour. And two were forfeited this year. I always found the second round to be fun between trades and seeing who slipped. Now it?s at 4pm? Weird.

So Bronny James doesn't get overlooked

Why does Boston hate centers so much .
they simply pick better players regardless of position. why acquire a mediocre to poor player simply because he plays center? get someone with an nba skill. scheierman shoots well, rebounds well, and passes well. he has a chance to be a rotation player next year.
The Celtics switch everything so they like guys who can guard multiple positions. When they commit to rebounding, even with Porzingis out they can do a serviceable job. And so you give up an offensive putback - it's only 2 points. So you go score 3 down the other end and you're still ahead.

Center is an overrated positoin in today's NBA.

Because the people making the picks wanted more than two minutes between them.  So there are four minutes now.

Just another day for Creighton's Baylor Scheierman in the opening NBA Draft Combine scrimmage. His distinct feel for the game was on full display with 17 points, 8 rebounds, and a trio of triples. Measured in at 6'6.25" barefoot with a 6'8.25" wingspan.

Why did San Antonio draft Stephon Castle?
Is the plan to turn him into a PG?
Or to go smaller with Castle at SF?

Seems strange to draft a SG so high when your 2nd best player (Devin Vassell) is also a SG.

Baylor Scheierman

Nice nice get. Good shooter and good rebounder

Sam Vecenie had him as the 22nd best player so looks like the Celtics got good value.

I wanted Filipowski but I guess I can talk myself into Scheierman

I am not sure a center drafted in this draft would be much help. Boston is better off finding a center as a free agent or resign the 2 they have.

The Celts won't go into the season empty-handed at center.  I'm guessing that they bring back two of Kornet, Tillman and Queta.

If he's as good as advertised, I like the pick. Like that he can rebound. He comes out of an excellent college program. Possible Hauser insurance. I don't think Brad would have used the pick on anyone he doesn't think can make their rotation by 25-26 if not sooner.

Watched a lot of Creighton games and Scheierman played very hard. He has unlimited range but can also score inside the arc. Automatic from the FT line. Passes well also.

The big thing is he rebounds like a beast. 9 a game. Fans in Boston will love him.

He isn't a project. He is ready to play at 23 and will have a roll on this team IMO.

He is insurance for Sam but having them both off the bench would be pretty crazy in Joe's system.

Celtics draft pick Baylor Scheierman is the only player in Division I men's history with at least 2,000 points (2,233), 1,000 rebounds (1,256), 500 assists (580), and 300 three-pointers (356).

How does he compare to Knecht?

I think they can get a big at 54 perhaps, there's Dante who played at Oregon and had and 28 and 20 in the tourney, also Enrique Freeman who smaller and more of a 4. they can bring Kornet and Tillman back and there always some big they can find
