At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I don't even want to go there.  It would be great if he does heal faster than expected, and that he can play part of the season.  I see that as leading to him being that much better in 2026-27.  But would it really be good to have him playing playoff basketball in 2026?  When he might get the competitive juices flowing a little too much and push it a little too far?

It seems like people are getting excited about getting him back and then making a run in the playoffs.  If they are absolutely, 110% sure he is fully healed and that the surrounding muscles are all at absolutely full strength, then I guess in theory, that is OK.  I would worry though, seeing him pushing that hard, playing playoff intensity basketball.  And I would prefer not to see stories about it in the preseason.

Well, you?re going to have to take it up with JT, since he keeps posting these videos and is telling folks that he hasn?t ruled out playing this season.

I know, I wish he would consult me.  But in all this time, no GM, coach, or player has ever asked for my opinion.  Can you believe it.

But if JT did ask my opinion, I would tell him to just cool it with these statements.  Just keep doing your work, but no need to rev up expectations about an early return.  The world does not need a play by play of your recovery or what you have or have not ruled out.  I applaud the competitiveness that is spurring all of this, I just don't want to keep reading about how is is coming back earlier and earlier.  Something that may or may not happen in 6 months.
