A bit OT but still Celtics related:

So Al signed a 2 year 12M contract with the Warriors. The second year is a player option. Looks like he?s leaving the door open for another Boston comeback. Could Brad have offered him the same money?

We could have offered him pretty much any contract we wanted because of Bird rights.  But, Brad suggested that the contracts we offered were in the minimum salary range.

I wish Al would have stayed for something like 2/8M. Mentor the young guys, support JT, be a vet presence and retire a Celtic.

Jay King: Xavier Tillman said his knee would sometimes swell up like a balloon last season. Said his swelling is now the lowest since he?s been in Boston and he had no flare-ups with his knee this offseason. He?s focused on stretching more and has lost 12 pounds. Seems to be in a better place physically.

I think Brad basically signed bodies for this next waste of a year. Guys that can be easily moved on from when they reset this offseason.

I do not see Walsh, Garza, Minnot, Boucher or Simons on the roster this time next season.

So I'm still in the tank mode.

I'm sure JT can come back if he wants to in the spring, but Brad needs to put the clamp on that. Get a Top-10 lottery pick hopefully, and build for beyond 2026.

Totally agree.  Short term pain for potential long term gain.

The Jays need a young stud on the roster who can support them as they age.

In a recent appearance on 98.5 The Sports Hub, Celtics assistant coach Sam Cassell shared some insights into Tatum's recovery and his overall mindset. "He's coming," Cassell said. "Everybody's counting him out. I don't know his plan for returning this season, but I like what I see so far. He's not on crutches, he's not hopping around. He's active. Jayson Tatum, he heals fast. He's not a guy who gets hurt and sits down. He may miss a day or two, but he doesn't like missing games."

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.
