I remember 22 years ago, being on a plane on a Sunday in January to go back to college for the start of spring semester the next day.
This was the day after the infamous Patriots "tuck rule" playoff win over the Oakland Raiders, and there were 2 Raiders fans on the plane who said they were from California and just decided to buy tickets to the game at the last minute, flew in yesterday (Saturday) for the game and so now were flying right back out to go home.
As a poor college kid, from a lower middle class family, I remember thinking how crazy that was, and how expensive it must be to both buy game tickets and plane tickets last minute, and to fly cross country just for 1 day for a game. Not something my broke brain could fathom regular people doing.
Now here I am 22 years later looking at plane tickets to Dallas, and the cost of Game 4 tickets, and thinking that's not too bad (and wife said I could do it for Father's Day, though I'll probably pass since I already crossed off being in the building when the Celtics win the championship from my bucket list back in '08).
