Tim Legler saying BOS is the favourite but that Vegas odds are overstating things and underestimating how good this Dallas team is. He believes this could be one of the best most competitive Finals series we've had in the last 20-25 years.

False. There have been more competitive ones within the past 10-15 years, including Lakers/Celtics 2010, Cavs/Warriors 2016 etc.

Air Corgi predicted that Dallas will win in 7 in overtime. We lose Game 5 at home, win Game 6, but lose Game 7 at home.

We're screwed.

I hope fans don’t re-hash the past and get into anti Kyrie chanting.

1.  It will motivate him and his team.

2.  It will distract from enjoying a pure and interesting bball clash and cause a rehash of Boston bashing, race talk, etc.

3.  Get over it.  It was long ago.  Don’t give the media the red meat they probably already seek..
.

I’ve had the same exact feelings the past week waiting for this series but I think it’s asking too much unfortunately.
The garden will be all over Kyrie.

Same.  I don't really like him but it doesn't have much to with him leaving or his behavior on the Celtics anymore.  I'm over it.  In fact I'm kind of glad he left when he did.  As bad as it was in Boston it got really bad after that.  I think we dodged a bullet.

I don't mind booing but I hope it doesn't get taken too far.  For whatever reason, other players seem to really like him (including Celtic players).

I've gotten over Kyrie. I have no more hate for him than any other Celtics opponent. I would not want to see him get more attention from Celtics fans than he is worth. I truly believe he's in a better place mentally these days, and am happy for that. The player we will all hate for better or worse before this series is over is Luka.

So in your opinion, did JT/JB/DW/JH all lose their playoff experience? I keeps seeing this "they haven't been tested" line thrown around and the only way that makes sense is if players have their exp levels started over at the beginning of a new season. The 2022 playoff road they took was much harder than what dallas had to take this year.

I wish people would stop overrating this run the mavs had. They faces a gimpy Kawhi, baby OKC team, and a not ready yet Ant. Yes it was still tougher road than we had, but it's not like they beat prime Jordan 3 times in a row.
Yes mavs have a chance, but these teams are not even by any stretch. We should win, and if not, it will be colossal failure on the part of our core guys.

The T-Wolves beat the defending champs.  And Dallas beat them handily.  I still think the Celtics will win, but Dallas has had a tougher path, and Dallas will be our strongest playoff opponent by quite a margin.

Team A beating team B doesn't matter much to the match up of team A and team C.

Wolves, Nuggets and Boston are all different teams. Boston plays a different style to the wolves which means the Mavs will have to use a different scheme.
[/quote]

I hate this line of thinking. NBA is about matchups. Not a beat B and C beat B so C is the best!

If Dallas got Denver. Then Denver would be in the finals likely.

I would expect him to say that. The games are on the network that employs him.

Any time you see the media go out of its way to pump up one team they are worried about people tuning in.

It well could be a great series. Probably 6 games.

Maybe he's heard whispers from higher up that Silver is taking this to 7 games ala the 84 Finals in which Larry Bird publicly insinuated that Stern rigged game 6 for the Lakers.

In all seriousness I hope our guys are ready to play through some crooked officiating. The league can't be happy that both conference finals ended so quickly. I expect the refs to make every effort to extend this series to 7 games.

We need to keep our composure when the bad calls start raining down.

Tim Legler says the two best under pressure players in this series both play for Dallas. Luka and Kyrie. The longest track of consistent clutch play under pressure.

You know it's funny because Kyrie has never won anything without LeBonds.  And even then he won just one title. It's pretty ridiculous the reputation he's gained just because of that one shot in one game.

Where has all this clutchness been in other seasons?  Like when Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and the celtics manhandled his Nets a couple years ago?

Also hasn't Dallas had some pretty big chokes this Post season?

It's funny, a few days ago I was complaining about how long this wait is, but now that we're basically 48 hours away from Game 1, I'm back to being terrified LOL.

This is gonna be a long 2-3 weeks. But honestly, it's still better than not being in the Finals and pretty much just being bored with only baseball right now.

Needa blow them out from the get go. If this is a 8-10 point lead by the Celtics in the 4th quarter, then I don't feel confident about them holding onto that lead. Luka and Kyrie would feast us down the clutch. Their offense will overwhelm our backcourt defense.

I too am getting more and more terrified. Lol.

I hope we bring a little bit of not dirty but nastiness into the series. You saw it when we faced the Warriors Draymonds physicality and getting into our heads kinda turned the series around for them. Especially with most of the Mavs roster being the first time on this stage. We really don’t have that KG or Draymond type guy on this team. Smart was that here’s to looking at hopefully JB to be the one taking no crap and playing with force.
