So has there been any reporting on whether KP will be ready to start next season? Is he expected to miss time at the start?

I suspect he won't be just because it's almost July already.

Ya I guess we've heard he'll be out "a few months" but what does a few months mean? Because next season likely starts mid October so its less than 4 months away, and I imagine he'll need time after surgery to get back into game shape. So I think it could be close.

Just my own speculation based on quotes from him and the team about the injury and surgery, but I am guessing if he has the surgery in the next week or two, he should be ready for training camp.

All I care about is that KP and the rest of our other players are healthy for the playoffs.  If KP is healthy at the start of the season, great.  But I want him to be close to 100% as much as possible.

Seriously.  Keep that man in a bubble until the second round next year.  Sign Tillman and have him master our system.

KP reminds me of Gronk. Sure, you can win a championship if he?s hurt, but it?s going to be a lot easier with him. I wanted the Patriots to sit Gronk until the playoffs and I feel the same way with Porzingis.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Difficult decisions will have to be made, maybe even this season. Sure, KP is the perfect fit BUT we played excellent without him, with 38 year old Al in his place. Money will be a problem at some point and I can see KP as the odd man out if push comes to a shove and Brad finds a great opportunity to pull the trigger.

Brad could trade him, but not for anyone nearly as good as a healthy Porzingus.

We definitely give it another season. If he remains relatively injury free and we win another Title, then I think it's safe to say that we will keep him. But if he has a season ending injury, our other players are pushing to hard to make up for his absence, and we have a disappointing finish, then I think he'll be traded. He does make a ton of money and that could go a long way in filling out our roster and/or by keeping us at a more reasonable/sustainable salary range for the rest of the decade.

I personally think we have two years left with Porzingis and Holiday. After that, 1 of them is definitely gonna get dealt. Or they can just let KP's contract expire and it's his choice if he wants to return for cheap like Horford has in the past few years.

I think it will be the other way around. Porzingis is 6 years younger than Jrue. Horford will be totally done 2 years from now, we will need Porzingis long term. Jrue will be 36 years old. He can return for cheap like Horford did.

I don't think we can expect a 30 year old KP to sign a contract at $10M/yr. If he remains healthy at all, then he will command at least as much as he is making now.

My point was more so that Porzingis' extension will expire here after 2026. So in theory that money is off the books. Then at that point, you can maybe find his replacement (ideally a cheaper one) or if KP actually loves it here he can stay for cheaper. Not 10M a year, but also not max money.

The 2nd apron is gonna become a real thorn for us after next year, I wonder how Wyc and Brad will navigate it all. I'm already expecting 2 of Hauser/Tillman/Kornet to be gone, then Horford retires maybe in 2-3 years. This is where we need to hope Queta, Springer and Walsh among others can rise to the occasion even if as solid role player options.

Assuming we keep White though, we have a great trio to build a core around in White/Jaylen/Tatum given their ages too.
