Way too many overreactions on this board. Even some of the best teams in NBA history had a game or two like this in the regular season.

Yep. Celtics still up 3 full games on the bucks even after this. Bucks have played two more home games than Boston. Boston played two more road games.

Ha! Joe did it and is sitting the starters. Good on him. Give the middle finger to the league for this scheduling.

This could be the worst loss in Celtics history, and this team will not hear the end of it.

Nobody will remember them beating Minnesota nor the Clippers or the Lakers, but they will remember them losing a regular season game badly to the Bucks on the road. Adversity, here they come!

Good. Top 6 guys should not play this half. Onto Houston.

Credit to Mazzulla for benching the starters. No need to rise injury here

I don't understand the league.

Why would.you put a marquee matchup and schedule boston ok a b2b. You think you would want a good product

Waaaaah. Boooo hooooo. I get what you’re saying but there’s no excuse. As an every day worker making a fraction of the money these players get I’ll work a 13 hour shift and get up and have to be to work at 6am again…waah.
Bucks are simply a legitimate threat and will continue to be so after they blow us out tonight

Sure thing sport

Are the bucks not a legitimate threat bud?

When did I say they weren’t? But having two full days off before this game to practice and Boston playing last night absolutely is a factor

Sure. So last nights win means nothing. Wolves were on a back to back

Celtics did not have two full days off before they played them to rest and practice. Celtics have been on the road a ton lately and yes that can factor in.

Wolves literally beat the magic in Orlando less than 24 hours before they had to suit and play the Celtics in Boston and took us overtime. I guess that win which I thought was the best of the year meant nothing.
Look. I get the excuses. Celtics are great, bucks stink. They have 0 chance, games totally unfair. Yay!

Like, do you not understand the concept of "context" at all? Of course you don't with the non-sensical "everyday worker" comment, but I'll still lay it out for you:

Not only is this a B2B, but also: (1) it was an emotional, OT game last night, (2) we're having to travel, (3) we're crossing timezones with the travel and losing an hour, (4) the Bucks are on two full days rest with no travel, (5) they're coming off of an awful losing streak and are clearly motivated to win, and (6) we're literally playing the 5th game in 7 nights (!).

That's a lot of factors working against us. This really was a schedule loss, though we didn't do ourselves any favors by not taking better care of business last night and we shouldn't be losing this bad.

I know being an everyday worker doesn’t actually correlate with being a professional athlete bro I just simply don’t deal with excuses like you do.
Bucks are legit and have 2 first ballot hall of famers on their roster and destroyed us tonight. Give all the excuses you want, Celtics should’ve been ready.

So you think they're just putting less effort into their jumpers? The issue isn't a defense.  Their shots are simply not falling.

You got Lopez shooting from almost half court... it's one of those nights.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

The Bucks lost 4 of their last 5 and teams like the Jazz scored inside on them at will.

So of course the Celtics keep jacking up 3s and started 1-16 from there. But maybe that’s also them being fatigued (5 games in 7 days) and not really being aggressive because of it

Adversity, here they come!

It’s a game in early January. Has zero impact on anything. Bucks have had their share of 20 blow out losses this year

I do hate this for Jrue, though. Terrible first game back, though he apparently doesn't seem too emotional or connected to Milwaukee.

Use it as motivation for the Spring and early Summer

I thought the championship was decided in January?

Ha! Joe did it and is sitting the starters. Good on him. Give the middle finger to the league for this scheduling.

I'd rather give the middle finger to the Celtics players for not showing up. Are we supposed to feel sorry for them because they're playing two nights in a row? Such a poor excuse.

This was going to be a very difficult game to win regardless. And it's not like this is just some excuse to justify their poor play; this was something that was being discussed and expected beforehand given how this was scheduled and the context leading into this game. Just one of those nights. Probably shouldn't be losing/playing as badly as we are, but a loss is a loss is a loss.

Championships are not won in January, but they can be lost in January if one of our key guys gets a season ending injury for running out there hard on tired legs after a brutal schedule
