We just suck shooting the ball tonight haha Horford in particular looks like Druski shooting out there.so if we are shooting 28% from 3, we should just keep shooting them if we are open? how many of those makes at 28% does require to over-ride better looks in the lane? Not necessarily. But the ones Al missed were WIDE open with nobody within 15 feet or so. For a shooter like Al, I think you have to take those every time and just play the percentages. It's the other ones that are just open/semi-contested or earlier in the shot clock that I think you have to reconsider.ok, ok, I will give Al his wide open 3's, I just get tired of us having something that obviously works, but we keep shooting 3s when we are shooting 28%I guess the logic is that every shot is its own discrete probability unrelated to what happened before. Just sucks as a fan when you see them bricking stuff all the time and keep doing it I get it, I mean math / statistics...but the actual game has guys getting hot and getting not hot. the basketball gods tend to reward the attackingInterestingly, there's quite a few behavioral economists that argue that "getting hot" in sports - particularly basketball - is a myth and is all easily explained by variation and statistics.Clearly, they didn't play basketball growing up, or at least ever get on a hot streak. There's something tangible that you can "feel" when you're hot, where you can know that the ball is going in as soon as it leaves your hands.
