Nice 10 min from Queta...5pts, 5rebs +3
Terrible 8 min from Kornet...0pts, 1reb.  -9

God, I'm still hot about that late sub of Kornet in for PP when Philly had five shooters out there, and he immediately gave up five points to bad defense and a bad foul.

Just made absolutely zero sense. I mean, when Bob Myers - a guy who is trying to establish himself as a broadcaster and getting in everyone's good graces - is calling you out for such a poor decision, that's saying something.

So I watched Tatum's ejection on an ESPN short video - I still don't get why he was ejected. For arguing a call? It didn't look like he even hit Covington, Covington looked like he should have been Td up for flopping.

yea i was within earshot, the refs told him to stop and then they told our coaches to get him away from arguing, we didn’t act soon enough in the refs opinion so the next word out of tatums mouth got him ejected

Thanks Matty, TP for sharing your first hand experience! Tatum really needs to stop complaining when they've made the call, they won't change it in any case. I thought he had got better at it but I guess he was frustrated tonight
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Yeah, that was my read of it, as well. The call itself was questionable, but I thought that was just a Tatum screw up and the refs gave him plenty of time to not get himself in trouble and he still did.

In two appearances @ 10 minutes each, Queta is averaging 6 rebounds per game.

just getting to giving out my TP’s while my father hits the bathroom, TP’s around, tbh i enjoyed the game much more after JT was ejected, other players had to step up

I thought it was a good game to watch. Sloppy at times for sure but a lot of good aspects too.

I was surprised to see Kornet in late. I thought they would put in Hauser instead.  But that may be nitpicking. Glad we got the win. I bet the locker room has a good vibe after this.

A win is a win but the Cs were absolutely trash tonight. Just an abysmal performance. Would have gotten wrecked if Maxey played.

They definitely didn't show up to play.  Lucky to get a win.

How can they not be ready against their #1A rival who they are fighting in the standings for best record in the East ?
Did they think, no Embiid or Maxey, would be an easy win ? We were without our #2 guy as well.
This game shows the dreaded disadvantage we have - and will have in the playoffs - with Mazzulla going up against a very good opponent's coach.

Tonight was not a Mazzula thing. It’s the players. Didn’t seem like they had an issue the other day outside of hurting their own feelings for beating the Bulls by too much.

the announcers in a nicer subtle way basically said kornet SUCKED and it was good PP relieved him of his duties late

Weird game.  My first I’ve attended in a few years.  Crowd never got in a groove - much like the team.  But we survived.  Sucks not having 3 stars on the court.  Plus Porzingis.
Yup

That substitution changed and won the game for the cs.  Banton ND kornet are just not nba players.  I really hope Walsh can develop in Main to take those minutes later in the year.  The cs really need another bench piece to soak up minutes on nights like these.

Jrue 4-11 FGA tonight. Only 43% FG% this season much lower than his last few seasons in Milwaukee. Actually the lowest mark of his career marginally lower than previous ones.

Only 53% TS%. Lowest since 2020. His last season in New Orleans before leaving for Milwaukee.

He is doing very well otherwise but his inefficiency scoring wise is negating some of his positives elsewhere.

Come on, JB. Use your head. Why are you fouling here?

said the same thing. jb continues to solidify his low bbiq rep.

Classic dumb basketball by Jaylen Brown.
I'm sure in his head, he saw a chance for a "clutch" steal while being completely oblivious to the score/time/game situation.
He doesn't think, just reacts, which works out a lot because he is such an incredible athlete and has amazing talent in some areas.
But the "no thinking" part ends up hurting us more than the athleticism helps way too often.

He’s been missing easy lay ups this season. Hopefully he improves as the season goes on. DW was the same when he first got here if i remember correctly.
