One thing I noticed tonight - the hand check is apparently legal again. Memphis was doing it a ton - as were the Celtics though not as blatantly.

Last year the Cs probably lose this game...KP and Jrue make a huge difference.
Agree. When things were becoming unglued offensively, I was calling for Jrue to settle the team down and he did.

Did he? I love the addition of Jrue, but this wasn't his best game this season. I actually thought he played a little selfishly tonight. That smoked dunk at the end to get the score up to 2 possessions highlighted it for me. He should've laid it off the glass.

Imo, this game was all about how much Porzingis raises our ceiling. He dominated mismatches offensively, hit FT's, and erased so many of Memphis' shots at the rim. Just a great all-around game from him tonight.

Is Biyombo available ?
Wouldn't Memphis like some draft picks and/or young role players for an older post guy that could help us ?

Why? Biyombo was useless out there. Kornet is better than him.

Selfish? He didn't shoot well, but he also only took 7 shots. That seems pretty selfless to me. Also, dunks require more effort but are usually safer than layups. He just underestimated JJJ's ability to cover ground and bother the attempt.

Another positive point tonight, nice to see some good minutes from Queta. Hope he can adequately fulfill that 3rd string Center role for us. At least we should know well enough before the trade deadline.

How about Sam Hauser tonight..15pts, 4 rebs, 2steals, and 0 turnovers....also 5/7 from 3.  Also +17.

Hauser was great. He's become a reliable weapon for us that really stretches the floor for everyone.

He has a lot of work to do on defense.  He was consistently in the wrong spots.  I think I counted four possessions where Memphis generated good shots as a result of his poor defense, and he wasn't out there for that many possessions in the first place.  Shooting foul to put Lofton at the line because he missed a rotation, and a couple of open looks from three that Memphis thankfully bricked.

He did have a couple of positive plays offensively as the screener in the pick and roll though.  On one, he was open for a lob but Pritchard didn't see him.  On another, he rolled alone to the rim, and Memphis overreacted defensively by leaving Hauser open in the corner and White found him.  Splash.

Good to get him an opportunity to learn though.

I was going by his per game stats this season @ 9 rebounds, 8+ points & 2 assists per, while shooting 60+% from the field.
That's way better than our current post backups.

Missed the game but relieved to read back that KP bailed us out. The multiple scoring options Celtics now have is a huge asset

Missed the game too...who's the pinata for tonight. I'm guessing it's Jaylen from looking at the box score?
