Got a great look.

Btw, if this was the Celts that let the Sixers back, this thread would be crucifying the Cs.

C’s fought back and got a really good look to tie this game. 3 point loss in Philly.

Are you gonna give them a cookie for only losing by 3 to a 6ers team that desperately wanted to choke the game away?
Yay! They’re so good

Would you rather them NOT fight back to make a game of it?  lol omg

Rather them not shoot themselves out of the game from 3.

Back to wanting Joe fired.

I appreciate the fight but I’m not going to credit them for starting to try when the game was already decided

As the season progresses, imo what we need more than a bench big is a bench scorer and a backup PG. Pritchard has been a complete failure at both of those things.

Bright side - we played terribly for a majority of the game, but still had a chance to tie it at the end.

But, realistically, we're dealing with some of the same issues as last year already peaking through. We have some serious systemic problems in our offense being over-reliant on the three ball, and while our defense is overall solid, KP is someone who can be exploited by a speedy guard like Maxey, while also not being thick enough to guard Embiid.

Frustrating loss. We better come back motivated to beat them next week, and we better focus and get back on track Friday.

I should be used to it, but honestly it’s like people here have never been through an NBA season. Terrible shooting this half - just terrible. It means zero in terms of telling us what this team will be this year.  Two road losses v. very good teams. No conclusions from me - they might be ‘OK’ as someone said above or they might be a contender. Let’s see what happens next time v. Philly.

People always have trouble dealing with a loss  :police:

As terrible as tomight has been it’s just one game. Im waiting till end of December before passing judgment in the season. I’m happy to pass judgment on tonight’s effort though

But it's not just the losses; it's how we're losing them. Between the Minny game and tonight, several of our awful habits from last year are creeping back up.

Poor end of game decision-making (from players and coaching) cost us the game in Minny, and we have no identifiable offense when our threes aren't falling tonight. These were the two biggest issues we had last year, and even with a substantially better roster, we're still suffering from these issues.

That's what we're freaking out about.

I get it, that’s why I said I’m happy to pass judgment on this game. I’m not prepared to extrapolate the performance to the rest of the season yet though.

It's not really extrapolating to the future - it's the continuation of past bad habits and no discernable change in the coaching that is so disconcerting.

I don’t get how playing terrible is a “bright side”
Can’t play terrible in games that matter like this against teams we will likely see in the playoffs.

He looks outmatched out there. The speed and certainly the size look like they are bothering him.

At least with Hauser he's really good at a single set of skills - shooting, moving to get open, and quick release. And he has the size to get it off. PP just doesn' have that, and you can tell it's getting to him.

Hauser should've played more and I would've loved to see Svi in there taking some of those open 3s.

How could he miss that so badly - real clean look.

Looked like he rushed it a little

Pritchard is missing wide open shots.

I dont give a credit for a max player who sleepwaked for 47 minutes and  later made a 3 and a block.

His turnovers, especially when he dribbled through 3 players just showed his stubbornness, which he may have copied from his coach.

Joe needs to scrap the 3pt shoot barrage game plan and incorporate KP playing down low to get easy 2s. We need to play to our individual player's strength.

Philly has stumbled into a good team. They finally got rid of all the headcases and brought in a new voice in Nurse.
Plus they kinda inadvertently have found themselves with some depth after unloading Harden.

Tough game. Alot of good contests and loose balls went in for Philly. Our Superstars struggled. Philly gets blown out when their superstar has a bad game.

Joe making fun of Gary when Gary asks why they settled for too many 3s, said thst he wrote an article back in 2016 saying thst the Celtics shot too many 3s, asks him “that was 7 years ago…so what’s your fascination with too many 3s Gary?…you blamed the offense but not the defense…you wer ahead of the curve, they shot 42 threes then ans only 7 more tonight”

Also said he thought tonight was one of their better played games from an execution and mindset standpoint, had a well managed game, connected defensively, came down to a number of plays
