A new detail has emerged about the Celtics' efforts before trading Jaylen Brown to Philadelphia. 👀

According to @JonKrawczynski, Boston previously offered Brown to the Timberwolves in exchange for a package centered around Rudy Gobert and future draft capital.

Minnesota reportedly wasn't interested, and the deal never got off the ground. Instead, Brown was eventually traded to the 76ers, revealing that the Celtics had explored multiple paths before making their blockbuster move.
Dang Celtics wanted to get rid of Brown badly but it is his contract was why teams didn?t want him. Way too much money in the future for him

Really like the 2 picks. Cenac reminds me of Chris Bosh & surprise he fell that far. Mitchell can be a good second unit guy if he get shooting better.

Does Cenac have the shot creation to be a star talent?

Or is he just an athletic role player with a jump-shot?

I think that is the question. He seems to have some raw talent and skill offensively, but he doesn't seem to have the natural feel for scoring.

That feel can be developed as you get better you get more confident and assert your game more.   We have seen this recently with Scheierman, Queta, and Walsh and all these guys games improved.

I don't think people grasp what going up a level in sports mean that well.   These guys were top dogs in high school, some were top dogs in college and they are exploring being pros.  Every level you go up the guys are bigger, stronger, faster and more skilled there is some adjustment as you move up.  You even see this variance in college levels from DIII to DI.  Even guys like Jordan only scored 13.5 PPG his freshmen year at UNC.  Though it has been said Deam Smith was the only man who could keep to under 15 PPG.  JK

Cenac has elite athletic ability and a strong base of skills for a 6-10 guy.   He is not going to be the next Jordan but he could be a good pro if we bring him along, right.  Maybe the next Big Shot Bob, let's hope!

The tools are there, he just needs to work at his craft and figure if he is a 4 or 5 or stretch 4.
