So George will wear 13, Conley will wear 44, and Robinson will wear 4.  Welcome guys!

13. Not a great number in Celtics lore

Is Delonte the only notable guy that wore it for multiple seasons?  Todd Day isn't notable, haha.

I miss Delonte, and wish him the best.  His story is one of the saddest in Celtics history.

Shams Charania reveals that Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown?s personal relationship off the court was ?as close to non-existent as you could have? over the last year. 😳

"It is a tale of two different people."

That happens to a lot of players while they are out injured. Maybe something, maybe nothing.

no it was pretty much always like that

Is this maybe something?

The Celtics very clearly want to lean into Tatum being the unquestioned number one guy, and they didn?t think Jaylen was going to accept that. Feeling that it would create more unnecessary problems for the team was a non-starter that obviously contributed to the decision to shop Brown around the league.

The other notable excerpt from The Athletic article indicated that the Celtics weren?t happy with how Brown hijacked some of the playoff games, straying from the system and leading to poor results. Despite scoring 33 points in the Game 7 loss, he shot just 12-27 from the field, and the team was outscored by 16 during his 40 minutes.

Contributing to concerns about the situation, the Celtics believed that Brown went off script too often during playoff games as Boston blew a 3-1 first-round lead to Philadelphia, according to a league source.

yes

I believe it. Well, least we know now.

Todd Day is one of my all time hated Celtics.  The interesting thing is that no one wore that number for nearly 40 years until Charles Smith (again, this is a bad Celtics number to have) grabbed it in 1990.  I did like Mike James, though.

Smith, Day, Fab Melo, James Young, Marcus Morris, Tristan Thompson, Enes...

Ugh.

Summer league roster per Taylor Snow.  See birthdates after I graduated college is a real shock to the system.

I still get shocked when I see there are full grown adults born after 9/11.

27 players have worn the No. 13 for the Celtics over the years . Delonte West held the number for the longest time...5 seasons.

Glad Hugo will be able to join.  And I am curious about this Mohammad Amini, in several ways.  Firstly, is he really 6-7, 175??  Secondly, he stayed in the draft as an international player despite being young enough to withdraw and try again next year.  I wonder if he is someone we are looking at for a 2-way?

If Hugo is playing another year of summer league, the organization still views him as a project player. I think the expectations that fans have for him this coming season is pie in the sky.

Not 6'-7", looks like he is 6'-5" with no shoes.  My quick search revealed that the question is his shooting.  About 30% from 3 in his short professional career in Europe.

Jaylen played in summer league after his rookie season and then was an opening night starter.

Hugo averaged less than 4ppg last year and he is playing summer league again. If you think he is going to be a starter over White, George, or Pritchard, I will have what you are having.

Hugo was not even in the playoff rotation. He had several DNPs during the season. He is still a project at this point.

I disagree...however, I believe the Cs want him to step into a larger leadership role not just a high-energy motor guy who plays good defense.  I think the Celtics want him to also test his off-the-dribble shot creation and refine his ball-handling under more defensive pressure as a primary option on offense. I also think they would like to see him build more confidence in his outside shot.

Hugo was not even in the playoff rotation. He had several DNPs during the season.

Jaylen averaged 6 in his rookie year, had a DNP and multiple garbage time only appearances in his first playoff series, and went back to summer league.  His rookie season was not amazing, and yet in year 2, after a second trip to summer league, he started over Marcus Morris, who had started 159 games the prior two seasons, and Marcus Smart, who had started 24 games and averaged 30 minutes per night.  Will Hugo be a starter or 6th man?  Dunno.  Is it a de facto truth that there is no chance  of this and the Celtics are not considering it because he is going to Summer League?  No, not at all.
