More Hugo highlights from WC Qualifiers

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y6ENqqZRbgM&ra=m

Hugo really does remind me so much of Dan Majerle. That steal he makes on the 2nd play in that video, playing the passing lane, chasing it all the way downcourt, saving it inbounds to a teammate who gets the bucket. Hugo looks so much like Dan Majerle on that play.

People remember Majerle so much for his 3 point shooting but they forget he was a superb hustle player, strong rebounder, and an All-Defense level defender. He also had nice passing and handles too.

Same size. Same physique. Similar level of quickness & athleticism. The dunks. Thunder Dan!

I can see that comparison working, not bad at all.

I think Dan was a little stronger, but Hugo is a better at D already by a slight margin but it is a good comparison.

There's a reason they didn't move the kid.  He has the tools.  Just needs the experience & growth now.  He's gonna be a good one.

That's some bs comment from Tatum must sound like he didn't really want JB to be traded.

But yes, pressure's on now. He is the clear no. 1 guy on the team and he'll need to adapt with Paul George among other newcomers

For better or for worse, JT seems like a guy who can check his ego at the door, if it means winning. Like he would rather win than do well. And the downside to that it is that it maybe makes him look like he does not want it as much as his contemporaries, but JT sounds like a guy who wishes he was always playing on a stacked team lol

I guess I?m impressed that you guys seem to know what Teague and Tatum meant there. I?m left none the wiser.

According to Teague, Tatum essentially said [dang] I can?t believe that trade happened. That is some Bull crap.

If Tatum really wanted Jaylen back and they still went ahead and traded him for that, then I would fear for Tatum's time here too. A few more early playoff exits and cost-cutting measures and Tatum will probably ask out too.

I refuse to believe that though, if JT wanted Jaylen back badly he could have petitioned for it more behind the scenes or even put out stuff on social media supporting him like he has in the past. He didn't. I think he wanted Jaylen gone, although yes maybe he's surprised Jaylen didn't have that much trade value either

Celtics didn?t want Browns contract. Tatum was not going to be able to do anything to change that.

Seems like no one wanted Browns contract.

Then that's not a good sign going forward with this ownership group. Look at the Red Sox too, they've had no problem letting go of or trading stars away over the years as well if it doesn't fit their models/finances. That's how these private equity groups run sports teams. We'll see. I'm not feeling encouraged with what's been happening the past 1.5 years, even factoring in the CBA.

I think we need to see how this all plays out.  Obviously, you're hampered by a salary cap in the NBA and this new CBA is no cup of tee. Celtics are one of the guinea pigs under these new parameters.

I don't like the trade at all but I also think we still need to see the butterfly effect from this in 2-3 years to see if it actually made sense.  Obviously, this organization seems to be placing a high emphasis on flexibility.
