Jaylen Brown continued to voice his issues with ESPN and Stephen A. Smith, commenting on both during a recent event in France on Wednesday in a video posted on social media.

Brown said he took umbrage with the way ESPN covered his comments about this past Celtics season being his favorite out of ten seasons in the NBA.

The leader behind that was ESPN. ESPN is unethical, Brown said. Stephen A. Smith is the head face of that, but the organization, the players, they were all in agreement, they knew what I ment by that. Our team was basically all salary dumps. We lost a lot of players. For us to emerge and still be in that same position, we?ve got to understand..

Say what you will about JB, overall I think it is a good sign that rather than lashing out at the Celtics for all the trade rumors, he is continuing to pick a fight with Stephen A and ESPN about all this.  To me that signifies a salvageable relationship with Boston.

Boston continued to discuss Brown trades on Tuesday, two sources familiar with the talks tell Sports Illustrated. Many of the conversations were initiated by rival teams, sources say. Some were brokered by the Celtics. ?They are hunting a big man,? says a rival executive. ?And they are willing to trade [Brown] to get it.?

Sports Illustrated

They are set to trade him for Mobley imo....

SAS has constantly been picking a fight with Jaylen. He made comments about how Jaylen should not pretend to be a victim in the Giannis trade discussions, yet Jaylen literally didn't make ANY comment about it in the past week. Nothing on his stream either.

I kind of wish more athletes went after SAS. Durant and Lebron have done it in the past. Funny thing is, he's a Knicks fan too yet the Knicks players all hate him too. Brunson appeared on First Take and was very passive aggressive towards SAS

I'm not understanding why the team wants to trade Jaylen for a big man, after Giannis got dealt. Sorry but there isn't a big man out there that I'd value over Jaylen besides the ones who are not leaving (Jokic, Wemby). So Sengun, Sabonis, Mobley? On their own it's not enough, but even then I highly doubt you're getting fair value back for trading Jaylen.

This makes me worried that they are really considering breaking up the Jays for monetary reasons. Stevens has referenced the CBA multiple times now and this ownership group is new and so far they've committed to cost-cutting measures. We'll see, but it makes me wonder if ownership is also pushing to NOT have two supermax guys on the same team, hence these rumors.

I still haven't heard any official quote or declaration out there saying Jaylen has demanded a trade and that he's ticked off. Most rumors have been guesses or "I think" from these guys.

I'm not even sure it's fully about money. Mobley only makes $7M/yr less than Jaylen. Not irrelevant, but not substantial either. I think it truly is about getting more versatile and not having two of the same archetype taking up such a substantial amount of cap space.

I know not everybody would be happy with Mobley, but I'd be okay with a deal. He's a few years younger, a little cheaper, and plays a position of need. Maybe he's not the powerhouse Giannis is, but a DPOY with 3 point range is not easy to find. Maybe we'd need to add another scorer, but that seems easier than finding an All-Star level big

The "Celtics want to trade Jaylen for a big man" thing is sourced from Chris Mannix.

His reporting isn't bases on inside knowledge; it's based on what other execs and league figures think Boston might do. In this case everybody is looking at Boston going "seems like Jaylen is available and they need a big." Its extrapolation being re-dressed as active trade discussion.

As a reminder, Cleveland is currently over the second apron.  They can't take on more salary in a trade than they send out, nor can they aggregate players. So, as things stand at this moment, a JB trade to Cleveland isn't possible..

Does that mean that it has to be a 1-for-1 swap?

Yes, essentially. They need to clear salary before they can do a multiple-for-one trade.

Jaylen makes more than any player on the Cavs. Since the Cavs can't take back more money than they send out they can't do a 1-1 swap. But they also can't aggregate money. So there's no way to do the deal unless they first drop salary.

Currently they are only 200K over the 2nd apron, but they also have only 11 players under contract and will need to get to 14 to fill out the roster. So in reality they are more like 8 million over at minimum.

If they did trade Jaylen for E Mobley, I wonder if they would be better off switching Mobley to the center position full time.

Make Mobley the new Al Horford. A high post facilitator for the offense and versatile defender.

Then try to trade Queta for a wing to replace Jaylen.
