The only person driving JB out of Boston is JB with all the stupid things he is saying.  His conduct, actions, and statements are what is causing almost all of this.
I had zero problems with what he said on his first stream. It was perfectly clear to anyone reading his words that his "favorite" comment was not dissing Tatum. He is not responsible for others twisting his words. Some people intentionally read it wrong and then others didn't even read it and went with false narrative they were given. That's not on him. Anything else is unhealthy boundaries.

Do you think it was wise for him to say that immediately after a first round playoff loss?  Particularly when he played poorly in Games 5 and 6?

It wasn't just that though. It's the whining about the refs, and the beef.with SAS, and not taking accountability for his bad decisions, and all of it.
I think his statements about the season were just poorly phrased when he made them after getting knocked out.  I took it as him enjoying a season where the team came together to exceed expectations and some personal satisfaction in showing the detractors were wrong about the team sucking as well as him not being able to lead a team to a good record as the best player on the team.  no knocks on Tatum or anyone else.

the issues with the refs -- he's got a point.  he gets a really crappy whistle as does Tatum.  no other high-profile players in the league get less calls when driving to the hoop.

SAS -- > SAS is a worthless, self-promoting Asshat looking for clicks by twisting what JB said into the worst possible interpretation.  JB should have just set the record straight on what he meant and left it at that rather than engage with that moron but in doing so has come out looking like as much of a fool as SAS

as for accountability, I'm pretty sure he held himself accountable for the team's failure in the first round  but perhaps I misread that.  he, as well as the whole team and Joe, need to look in the mirror and realize they had this series and gave it away through horrible play.

I do not mind the stream afterwards a ton with what he said. I do think he was trying to also boost up the younger players too and himself of course.

The continuous drama though is now too much and I get he is trying to use the streaming to get himself out there but I think the opposite is happening. And the worst outcome of all of this is that it may even slightly hurt his trade value. That is the last thing we need from him right now.

only if Brad's plan is to trade him.  if JB stays, no harm except possibly irritating some Celtic fans that don't care for him anyways

I was watching the Road Trippin' Podcast with C Frye and R Jefferson. They were talking about the Ant incident where he gave up on the closeout game with 8min remaining and went over and shook the Spurs' hands in defeat. Their view was that it was wrong. A bad look. And that one of the vets should have a word with him. But it was also their view that it was a fairly minor wrongdoing. They gave it a 3/10. That folks shouldn't build it up into something larger than it is.

That is how I feel about Jaylen and his comments. A bad look. Reflects poorly on him. But a relatively minor affair and nothing to make a big deal about. I would only give it a 2/10 (or even 1/10).

I think his teammates understand where he's coming from and I seriously doubt there's any hurt feelings over a war of words with SAS.  I doubt FAs have any love for SAS either.  the fact he's heavily involved with the players' union suggests he doesn't have a lot of issues with other players in the league either.

I doubt Tatum is all that pleased.  He will either ignore things in public or will say the right things, but I doubt he loves a teammate saying that his favorite season was the one where Tatum was on the shelf, and they lost in the first round.  Or the various comments about how JB is sacrificing, etc..

Jaylen has clashed with all kinds of teammates, from Kyrie to Smart to Hayward.  Maybe it's time for him to shut up and dribble.

I can see the 'sacrificing' comments may be an irritation with Tatum but the rest is understanding the context.  he's made the 'sacrificing' comments in other years and they're still managing to play together without any seeming hostility.

I've been hearing it a lot today and frankly it's true. Last night's Cavaliers collapse was very similar to the Celtics against the Knicks. Cavaliers took 50 3s and only made 16 of them (32% rate). They blew a 20+ point lead to them that dwindled in just minutes. Atkinson got outcoached bad in the 2nd half, similar to how Thibs outcoached Mazzulla for much of the series last year too. The Knicks didn't rely on the 3 to come back, they also attacked mismatches which the C's couldn't do on the other end and neither did Cleveland late in the game.

Hate to say it, but it's kind of another reminder that the C's play-style and coaching philosophy just won't work.

Also, the frontcourt matters. Mobley and Allen, KAT and Robinson, and then the freaks out West (Jokic, Wemby, and even Chet/Hartenstein). I like Queta but they absolutely need more there in the group. I know he didn't play much of it but Porzingis provided a mismatch against most teams in 2024 and 2025 (when healthy) and he basically won them Game 1 vs. Dallas in the Finals on his own. It opened up things for others too when he was out there, including Tatum/Brown. Not saying it has to be Giannis but Brad needs to add someone.

And obviously even Horford, just someone who could play defense well and stretch the floor. Certainly missed him against Embiid in the first round. Vucevic isn't close to being it. They need another legit guy next to Queta.

Tim Legler was talking about how Donovan Mitchell did not get the ball in Q4 or OT. How that was strange. Even stranger was Mitchell not looking to get the ball. To get involved. Instead allowing Harden to be main creator. Legler wondered if D Mitchell's reluctance to come to the ball was a sign Mitchell was hurt. That CLE's Harden-based attack late in the game was out of necessity rather than choice. That Merrill was even the 2nd option ahead of Mitchell.

Legler did criticize Atkinson over his timeout usage - well, non-usage. He did not like Atkinson's answer that he was keeping them for later which he then never used.

Shaq & Barkley were criticizing Atkinson for allowing the Knicks to cut the lead from 20pts to 6pts before Atkinson made a timeout. Apparently they were both shouting at the TV to make a timeout for several plays before that. They couldn't believe Atkinson did not call a timeout sooner.

You got to have size, a rim protector & someone who can score down low to have a chance at a championship
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

So the Celtics should probably go after Giannis then.
