Hugo Gonzalez Now Leads The Entire League In On-Off Plus/Minus, with a shout out to DW!

Best Net On-Off Plus/Minus For The 2025-26 NBA Regular Season (Min. 800 Total Minutes Played) :
    Hugo Gonzalez  +14.8
    Nikola Jokic  +14.2
    Victor Wembanyama  +13.4
    Giannis Antetokounmpo +13.0
    Jalen Smith  +12.2
    Derrick White +11.8
    Moussa Diabate  +11.2
    Kawhi Leonard  +10.8
    Jimmy Butler III  +10.4
    LaMelo Ball  +10.4

Did his team win Euroleague last year?  If not, his coach was an idiot for not playing him more.

Fenerbahce Beko won the Euroleague last season.  Hugo played for Real Madrid; they finished as the regular season top seed but were eliminated early in the competition.  Hugo was an 18 year old role player and only played 10 min/game.

I know he did not play much.  But given how he has performed less than a year later in the NBA, I feel it is unlikely he should have had such a limited role.  If his team had been champions, whatever, but I have a hard time believing Hugo would not have helped his team win more than some others who played ahead of him.

Will be interesting to see what Joe does with the starting lineup now that Tatum is making his return. Several teams have had their star players come off the bench initially after returning from injury. Including Wemby, Zion, Herro, etc.

If Mazzula doesn?t go that route, I?d like to see White, Brown, Hauser, Tatum and Queta as the starting 5.

So, is this going to be Jayson Tatum's team again or is it Jaylen Brown's team?

I have a dream that Tatum has been learning by watching and is eager to be a part of the magic of this season.  Brown has been the leading scorer because they needed him for that but he has also grown his trust in his teammates by leaps and bounds.  I don?t know exactly what it will look like but I do think Tatum can blend in with what?s working and inventory figure it out make this team very difficult to beat.
Yup

Just in time...the way PP has been playing and after last night's full team performance, maybe we've been running out of gas.

So I just checked what JT's hero did when he returned after his surgery!  AI says that Kobe started his first game back and played 28 minutes with 9pts,8rebs,4assists, and 8 turnovers.  He claimed after the game that he was rusty and weird and that he had yet to regain his full game conditioning.

I feel like the team knew Tatum was coming back on Friday and had a hard time focusing on Wednesday.   They haven?t had a whole lot of games where they?ve been unfocused, but that would be a pretty good reason for it.

Based on what I have seen over the past several seasons, Tatum has been, no doubt, the better player.  Brown is good too, Tatum is better.  Brown may be more vocal with teammates, or whatever, and that is fine.  I don't think Tatum cares.  Smart was that way too.

I expect a choppy period while Tatum gets his legs back under him, but I am not concerned that having one of the best players in the world, RETURN to a team that is already good, is going to some how be a problem.  A team that Tatum won a title on!

I am sure that all the NBA teams would like to have the problem of an all-world player returning to their team for the stretch run.

I think this year in particular, it's more of Jaylen Brown's team than Tatum since he won't be 100% physically, whether it's from shooting form but also in the endurance and game form. However, if Tatum can accept that, I think they'll both be very dangerous come playoff time.

Much less for Brown, the question I think is how will some of the role players role change and will they adapt quickly. When you are getting minutes, it's much easier to find your rhythm but with Tatum impacting that, will some of these guys still be effective at shorter bursts?
