I guess I don't completely understand the hand-ringing about trading for another max player. In fact, I see a salary cap way the Cs could trade for a player like Giannis and get out of the 1st apron this season. That would reset the apron penalties. If we then used the big trade exception in the off-season for another solid rotation player, we'd be looking at a 2-3 year window with the Giannis-Tatum-Brown core. We'd be the favorites.

The trade idea would be something like White, Simons, Hauser, and Minott (plus draft picks, and possibly one of Hugo or Walsh) for Anthony and the 3 brothers. We'd then sign Ron Harper Jr. to a team-friendly contract.

We'd start Pritchard-Brown-Tatum-Walsh-Giannis with Queta-Hugo-Baylor-Garza-Anthony off the bench.

Don't get lost on the trade idea primarily here. My main point is that it is possible to add another all-star player while getting out of the 1st apron and resetting the apron penalties.

The Celtics seem set to at least pursue making a notable addition ahead of the Feb. 5 trade deadline. Boston not only could be a team looking to make a move ahead of the trade deadline, but ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania also believes the Celtics will be aggressive in trying to get a deal done. They?ve been in the marketplace, trying to go get a big-time starting center potentially, Charania said on the Pat McAfee Show. They?re going to be aggressive in moving the needle. They?ve got assets. They?ve got contracts to play with.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Jalen Smith, Bagley III or Day'Ron Sharpe please.

We can hunt for a starting center this offseason when more names will be available and we also have the Porzingis TPE to deploy.

For now I'd prefer to keep Simons, and just add a backup center who can fill in between Queta and Garza
