Even including lats night Derick White is shooting 34% from the field and 26% from three his last 10 games. He is in an almost unfathomable shooting slump for someone who's been a 38% plus shooter the last two years. Hopefully this last game helps him get out of the slump.

He's not the only Celtics slumping. Jaylen is at 43/26 over his last 12 games. Tatum is at 43/31 over his last 15 games. Horford is shooting 36/29 over his last 23 games player. Pritchard is shooting 43/34 in January and averaging only 10 ppg. Jrue is at 43/34 over his last 25 games, although his three point shooting has recovered recently.

Basically the C's need their core players to start shooting better. the only guy unambiguously shooting well right now is Porzingis who is at 47/39 on the season. In his case it probably helps that he's played just 23 games, he looks fresher out there as he should be.

The reality is, Kornet + Queta can get you through the regular season and maybe the first round of the playoffs. But beyond that, I don't know if they have enough depth at PF/C with Tillman being trash now, and Hauser's back acting up as well which impacts the backup wing spot. Pritchard can't do it alone.

Brad's gonna have to make a move or two. Lonnie Walker would be obvious. Maybe see if there's a cheap PF/C like Day'Ron Sharpe as well. Because just relying on this current group and hoping Porzingis stays healthy, Horford finds the fountain of youth, Kornet becomes prime-AD on the defensive end and Hauser's back magically healing, I don't think it's gonna work.

The saying is "we'll go as far as the Jays take us" and I usually agree, but the field this year is also a lot better and we're just not getting enough some nights from our secondary guys too (Holiday, White, Hauser, Horford). Plus it doesn't help that Jaylen has resorted back to some bad habits and it also seems Tatum since the Brandon Jennings' drama has been meh.

I wonder what it would cost for us to pry Deni Advija (sp?) from Portland
Banner 19 please 😍

Jaylen was my binkie coming out of college.  Followed him from the ATL to CAL and prayed he'd be drafted by the C's.  I'm in the JKJB group, up until this year.

I want the Flagg raised in the Garden even if it costs JB.  It might be a few years down the road, and Flagg has mentioned playing with Tatum, so let's do it!

I don't think that any team getting Flagg would trade him for JB, unfortunately.

For salary matching, it'd cost us a starter, or Horford I guess if POR wants him. He makes 15M.

White has figured it out again on both ends and suddenly this team looks amazing again. Not a coincidence IMO. And White has struggled since the start of December which is also around the same time we started to play poorly and it's lasted for the last two months, up until this recent week. 4 wins in a row  8)

Time to address the bench with a trade for a wing before tomorrow.

It wouldn't win any GM of the year awards, but...

Tillman + Springer + #2 (WAS 2025)

for

Theis + Javonte Green + future #2

Then sign Torrey Craig for the 15th spot.

I would be fine with that. That would at least give the Cs some options off the bench after Al, PP and Hauser.

Do think we have seen more Springer to showcase him some.

I would have been fine wit that trade too, but I admit that Luke Kornet has been playing really well, and Springer has shown some good moments recently too.

Wait until Jrue starts to pick it up.  The C's will be on a whole different level.

Thank you Jaden Springer for the entertaining win vs the Clippers. He?ll be in good hands with Ime. I find it interesting that we made a deal with Houston.
