I took a long break from posting to deal with health and employment issues. Thankfully I am now rejuvenated and my career is back on track.
Delighted to see Celtic's win. Porzingis is a game changer!

Rebounding remains my concern.  We allowed 17 offensive rebounds.
The best rebounder on the team is also the best player. Not ideal. Not surprised that the Knicks would torch them on the offensive boards though.  This will be an issue that will be with the team all season.

We would have lost this game with last years roster .
Joe would have played 6 guys the entire game a year ago. At least he used his bench a little bit in the 2nd half even as the Knicks were making a run and pulling ahead. Pritchard needs more minutes though if we want him to be effective - consistent minutes.

The offense still went really stagnant at times in this game, and the Celtics fell back to their old isolation habits. I really hope they watch tape from that first quarter and derive something from it.

My takeaway from this game is that we got outshot pretty badly.  Usually that's an L in the NBA.  We won anyway, and on the road against a possible top-4 seed in the East to boot.

We had some shot selection issues and help defense breakdowns that contributed to the three-point disparity.  But some of it is also just luck.  On nights when the shooting is more even, we're going to blast some pretty good teams, I feel.  So our struggles tonight also give me reason for some optimism.

I feel like the plus side is we have enough closers in this team thst even if three of them shoot blanks we still have the other 3 to make plays. Let’s just hope nobody gets injured

You nailed it.
You can't stick Pritchard out there for 3-4 minutes every once in awhile and expect him to hit 3's consistently.
Maybe same with Hauser as well. Those two have to shoot well for this team to be successful over a long season.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

Way, Way too many minutes for the starters. We can't maintain that over a long season with this group.
Gotta manage those minutes better. Have a consistent plan for substitutions, keeping starters in with bench guys in whatever combos work best.
Yeah, I know it's the first game, but Joe and the assistants gotta figure that out.

So who do you want Pritchard to take minutes from, White or Holiday?

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Missed the game, but heard they squeaked out an ugly one on season opener on the road.

Our newcomer Porzingis with 30 pts and 8 rebs in his debut? Sounds impressive. I see he racked 2 technical fouls already...what was taht about lol.
