Honestly, neither of these teams should win more than a game on Boston.
But it’s probably better for us to play NYK, as (1) they play hard and will force us to play hard the entire time, and (2) with the crazy hype around them, we shouldn’t be taking them lightly, even with the injuries. Feels like Indy would be more of the same for us.
Yep, neither of these teams are a threat.
Amazing to go three series deep without seeing a real opponent yet. Our first quality opponent will be in the Finals. Possibly the easiest run to the Finals of All-Time.
Might be. I heard on NBA Radio that the 1987 Lakers had a pretty easy time winning the WC. Their 3 opponents RS games won were 37, 35, and 42.
I was trying to think of who the heck the Lakers played in those two other series other than Seattle in the WCF. I looked it up.
It was the Warriors in the WCSF. The Sleepy Floyd Game where he scores 51pts including a record 29pts in the Q4 to beat LA. I don't think it was much of a series other than that though.
And they beat the Fat Lever / Alex English Nuggets in the first round. Denver won only 37 games that year after winning 47 the year before and 54 the year after. They lost Calvin Natt to a season ending injury in 1987. Why they dropped from 47 to 37 wins. Not enough offense around A English. Added Michael Adams and Jay Vincent to boost them in 1988. Weakened side in 1987.
That was an easy run for LAL. The WCF series with SEA was pretty good. I do not remember anything of the first two other than the Sleepy Floyd game. They look like easy wins for LAL from the box scores.
