Indy = 14-28 FGA
NY = 22-38 FGA

10 extra FGAs for NY. Mostly off of offensive rebounds. 9 offensive boards already for NY to 2 for NY.

I did not realize all 7 of Hartenstein's rebounds were offensive boards. No wonder they felt so huge. He is dominating.

This Indiana team reminds me so much of the Detlef Schrempf years prior to him getting traded to Seattle. All offense / no defense.

It wasn't until they added the Davis boys (Dale Davis, Antonio Davis) and traded Schrempf for Derrick McKey that Indiana had enough defense and toughness to along with Reggie Miller & Rik Smits offensive talent to win in the postseason.

This four small guards stuff is all well and good for NY against a soft team like Indiana. No chance it will work against Boston. Not against Tatum & Jaylen. No way those small guards can handle them.

I wonder if Indy should try going big with M Turner at center alongside Siakam & Toppin at forward. Get more size on the court. Try to exploit those size mismatches.

Siakam can play SF.

Edit: Ah good. They are doing it. Last 2min. Deficit was 18pts. Now it is 15pts. Small signal. I hope they try it more in the 2nd half and see if it works for them.

Brunson scoring at will against a papier-mâché defense

Brunson scoring at will against a papier-mâché defense

I think it is more good offense than bad defense. Brunson is a tough guy to matchup with. Indy's starting combo guards do not match up well with him. Only McConnell and Nesmith do.

Thankfully BOS has D White and Jrue who can both matchup very well with Brunson. Haliburton and Nembhard do not have enough muscle to fight with him. White and Jrue do. I expect Jaylen will be the 3rd option to defend Brunson. Similar to Nesmith.

Nembhard is a good defender. Just a bad matchup for him. Brunson is making him look silly.

Haliburton has always been more of an active team defender than a one-on-one defender. He can't guard anyone one-on-one. Small guards, big guards, wings. None of them. Uses his length well in team defense to help defensively that way but struggles in any one-on-one situation.

McConnell does well because he can match Brunson's speed and physicality. Nesmith does well because he is physical and much bigger than Brunson ... and Brunson is slow so he struggles to find a speed mismatch like most PGs can do in such a situation.

Turner on Fiyah!

Dang. Three quick 3s by Turner to open the 2nd half in first 2-3 minutes. Pull the deficit down to 7.

Then NY call a timeout and take over again. Lead back up to 16 in just 4 minutes.

This series turning out to be a 7-game series. Think the home team will win all the games.

McConnell should start the next game instead of Nembhard. This is not a series for Nembhard.

Carlisle has been far too stubborn with his rotations in this series. Keeping to pre-ordained subs instead of rewarding hot hands / strong play and/or punshing poor performances. Carlisle has been hurting his own team in this series. He has been a liability.

Haliburton only 7pts 5ast in 27min.

He is a guy who has deserved to benched at various points in this series as well. Up and down. Unreliable. Carlisle has refused to bench him even on nights where he clearly does not have it.

The Pacers are getting totally punked. What a weak minded team.

Donte is a dirty punk.

But, yeah, Indy totally folding under pressure. Feels like a series where the home team wins every game.
