Kinda ironic. Jokic pulled what Curry typically does, half-court buzzer-beating 3's, right in front of Curry and in front of his crowd.

Ahahahaha. Don't like the Warriors, so nice to see them lose in such fashion.

milwaukee is in trouble defensively. we should score at will against them next week.

wonder if they are regretting firing coach bud? and Jrue holiday really was that important defensively? i mean sure you can squeek out wins against the bottom feeders of the league.

but if they finally start to face real teams (when is that starting?) giving up 120+ points isnt a recipe for success.

God, Wemby is ridiculous. I’m glad both he and Chet/OKC are in the West. We need to be winning a title now before it gets a lot harder.

Long way to go, but Wemby has the opportunity to be a an absolute unstoppable two-way monster in two to three years.
His mobility is absolutely absurd for his size/length. Even if his mobility starts to wane, if he has added strength, he will "only" be one of the 2 or 3 most impactful interior defenders that can fly around.

Banchero in the East.  It's good to see a lot of really excellent talent coming up through.

Yeah. People complain about the style of modern basketball sometimes, but the overall talent level is absurd. The League is in good hands heading into the Post Lebron era.

after a brief exchange with Irving during the first quarter, Zippel was asked to either stop holding up the signs or switch seats. Multiple sources told The Athletic that Jazz security asked Zippel to stop displaying the signs after Mavericks security raised the issue.

Quote
The interaction between Irving and Zippel was relatively friendly. During the first quarter, Irving saw the sign while inbounding the ball and said, “Nice, I’m Jewish too.”

“And I said, ‘Cool. Happy New Year, buddy,’” Zippel said, via The Athletic. “He inbounded the ball, and as he dribbled up the court, he called over his shoulder, ‘Don’t gotta bring a sign like that to a game.’”

In a league that allegedly values DEI, I don't see how displaying the sign itself is confrontational.  Only a racist / anti-Semite would be offended by that sign.

Yeah, ands security asking them to put it away is a huge overstep. I can understand telling someone to put the sign away if it's blocking someone, legitimately offensive, or is being used to advertise something, but those signs aren't any of those. If the NBA doesn't make a statement saying that this sort of behavior from teams/team security isn't acceptable, then there's a huge problem.
I'm bitter.

Naz Reid's development has been impressive. He has a skill level comparable to Taureen Prince now. He can stroke the three. He can put the ball on the floor and drive to the hoop. Mostly straight line drives but that is fine for a big man. Very impressive perimeter skills for a backup center.

His development has been key to Minny's bench being so good this season and for allowing Minny to keep their two big alignment on the floor while one of Gobert / Towns rests. It is Naz Reid's perimeter game that enables that. He has been great for them.

Commentators giving Udoka credit for Sengun's defensive improvement. Has been holding Sengun accountable and pulling him when he isn't putting in a shift. Has forced Sengun to improve his D to stay on the floor. The commentators now believe Sengun is a legit two-way player. He looks like it tonight. Doing a nice job against Minny. Active team defense. Good positioning. Solid one-on-one D. Uses his body well.

Towns has been great attacking Jabari Smith Jr one-on-one. Too big and strong for Jabari. Able to post him inside. Able to put the ball on the floor and beat him on the drive. Once he gets his body slightly in front of Jabari, it is over. Jabari can't get back in the play. Towns can get all the way to the rim.

Towns had a crazy running 18-20 footer on the left wing where he went glass to beat the shot clock. He has some amazing shots for a big guy.

The Rockets and T'Wolves would make a great playoff series. Some wonderful matchups here.

C: Sengun vs Gobert
F: Jabari vs Towns

Clash of styles. Sengun's offense vs Gobert's defense. Jabari's speed and mobility at PF vs Towns size and strength.

G: Jalen Green vs Anthony Edwards
G: VanVleet vs Conley

More natural matchups.

Edwards the most established young star who is trying to make his name as a top ten player in the league. Jalen younger and not as established but a bright talent. A possible future All-Star. Both dynamic young SGs.

Conley and VanVleet is the battle of small quick guards.

Even Jalen McDaniels vs Dillon Brooks. Brooks not playing today. But somewhat similar 3+D role players to round out the starting lineup.

A lot of fun matchups. They would make a great playoff series if they faced off with one another.
