Pacers are a team that will beat really good teams and lose to the mid ones

Bucks draw the pacers in round one would give Milwaukee fits

It'll be nice to see the Pacers take care of the Bucks and 76ers if that time comes.

Lakers getting cooked again. They can’t guard a chair. Will fall below. 500 if they can’t rally. Hate to see it.

But why? We matchup well with and generally own the bucks and 76ers, not even sure I’d rather play the pacers. I’d love to see someone beat the heat early on though

Isn't that what we were all saying about the Heat last year?

Good morning. The Lakers are below .500 and tied for the last play-in spot. Hope they are enjoying that IST banner

You should expect a two-nickel-for-a-quarter trade to propel them into contention within the next month.

More importantly, we're not even halfway through the season. Let's not dance on the gravesite too much before they've officially flatlined.

Weren't the Lakers in the play-in last year, and made it to the WCF? If your the Lakers, you only have to qualify. They still have LeBron, which is all that matters. Unfortunately, I trust him a hell of a lot more in the playoffs than I do the Jays.

LA has a lot of home games over next few weeks.  I know they lost at home last night, but I'd expect them to win 8 or 9 of their next 12 games.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

There's currently a growing disconnect between Darvin Ham and Lakers locker room stemming from disjointedness around rotation and adjustments, per me and

Yeah I'm not gonna dance on the Lakers' graves just yet. They made the WCF last season despite being in the play-in. Minnesota choked big time (ANT was a no-show that night), Grizzlies were overrated AND basically lost their frontcourt to injuries. And tbh we've yet to see if teams like OKC/MIN/SAC can do well in the playoffs or will inexperience cost a young team like OKC.

And like someone else said, who knows, maybe some team will bail the Lakers out at the deadline. Sort of like how Ainge and the Jazz did last year getting rid of Westbrook and adding some useful pieces around AD, Lebron and Reaves  ::)

Lakers lack of ball-handlers and passers are hurting them at the moment. They have only 3 ball-handlers / passers for most of the season and one of them (D'Angelo Russell) was out last night. That left them with only 2 ball-handlers and passers in LeBron and A Reaves.

All the other guys are spot up shooters. They do not move. They do not dribble. They do not pass. They are as one dimensional as it gets. And they are not even that good at that one dimension. Most of them are mediocre shooters. So their offense stinks.

Quick look at the AST and turnover numbers

You have your three leaders in LeBron, D Russell and A Reaves. A Davis is next at 3.4apg. G Vincent has been injured almost all season. He has only played 5 games. So who is next in assists?

Taureen Prince = 1.8apg vs 1.0 turnovers
Cam Reddish = 1.6apg vs 0.8 turnovers
Rui Hachimura = 1.1apg vs 0.8 turnovers
Christian Wood = 1.0apg vs 1.2 turnovers
Max Christie = 1.0apg vs 0.8 turnovers
Jared Vanderbilt = 0.7apg vs 0.4 turnovers
Jaxson Hayes = 0.3apg vs 0.5 turnovers

No passing. No ball-handling.

Jared Vanderbilt = 0.7apg vs 0.4 turnovers
Jaxson Hayes = 0.3apg vs 0.5 turnovers

No passing. No ball-handling.

Which then brings us to their scoring efficiency. So they do not provide any passing or handles, so what are they bringing to the table?

League average = 58% TS%

Taureen Prince = 56.9% TS% = slightly below average
Rui Hachimura = 57.3% TS% = slightly below average
Christian Wood = 56.7% TS% = slightly below average

Cam Reddish = 50.3% TS% = worst in league range
Max Christie = 49.2% TS% = worst in league range
Jared Vanderbilt = 39% TS% = worst in league range

Jaxson Hayes = 64.7% TS% = high scoring efficiency

The only role player with a positive scoring efficiency is a rim roller / dunker only big man. Everyone else is below average. Half are slightly below average and the other half are among the worst in the league.

Even when Gabe Vincent returns, he will give them an extra ball-handler however he is a minus passer and a well below average player in terms of scoring efficiency. So how much will he really help the offense? Not much. He is a defensive role player. Not an additive offensive player.
