Paul Pressey = that is a better comp for Giddey than Pippen. That is who Giddey reminds me of.

Pressey was not the athlete Pippen was. A good athlete but not a freak athlete like Pip. Likewise with Giddey. Not the outside shooter that Pippen was either. Likewise with Giddey. A very good defender, good rebounder, excellent ball-handler and passer for a SF who could play point forward, a solid scorer who lacked range on his jumper.

I agree with your other points but since when was Pippen a good outside shooter?

Average shooter?

Hmm ... I think I'll stick with good shooter. For his era. As a SF. Lots of SFs couldn't shoot the three.

Pippen shot it at around 34% from 1993-94 until the end of his career. Almost 4 attempts a game (3.6). Strong volume for that era.

He didn't shoot it that much prior to 1993. Small volume (1 attempt per game) at a bad percentage (25% 3PT%). 453 attempts total in this time period. In comparison, he had 2,549 attempts from 1993 onwards after he upped his outside shooting ability.

I don’t look too much at % for that era for the same point you mention.  It was such a small volume so rushed shots at the end of a shot clock end up taking up a larger % of a players attempts.  I was more just going off of memory from watching him.  Obviously Jordan would get the bulk of attention and Pippen was amazing in the open court and also cutting to the basket in the half court, but I felt like teams would try baiting him into taking jumpers when he had the ball

Bucks beat the Bulls by 9, but Dame had another stinker.  12pts, 3rebs, 5ast. 3-17 from the field, 1-9 from 3pt.  :-X

Does Chicago blow it up this season?

I saw some Lakers fans wondering what D Russell could get in the trade market. Someone mentioned Vucevic. I wonder if Russell would be enough to get DeRozan if Chicago were to blow it up. I can't imagine DeRozan has much trade value.

I'm not sure DeRozan would add that much to LAL but he could to someone else. Somwhere where he would fit in better. He could be a midseason trade difference maker that catapults that team ahead of the pack. Particularly out in the West where so many teams of similar ability are clustered together.

How about Harden & Plumlee for Vucevic & DeRozan?

Allow the Bulls to reset their salary cap situation. Allow LAC to move on from a trade that is backfiring on them. This would be a few months down the line closer to the trade deadline if LAC continues to struggle.

Chicago might like that.

There needs to be a Harden watch, or some gambling on if he asks away before the deadline..

His deterioration is something to behold. So slow...

If you really want to savour it, the defector article covering the aftermath of the trade from yesterday is great:

I don't even care that the 76ers look like our biggest obstacle now, this is the kind of sports narrative I want pumped right into my veins, please.

The rumor I heard was Zach LaVine to LAL, but not sure on the details.

LaVine would be scary for LAL. He actually fits their team. His shooting and slashing would be a major weapon playing off of LeBron and AD.

DeRozan's lack of outside shooting limits his upside there alongside LeBron.

Harden

Cooked I believe. No true interest in ball anymore .
