Best thing about this is that Jaylen got the bag and didn?t get complacent or start mailing it in.  He?s continued to work on his game and improved. Still has that drive and has evolved into that Marcus Smart team leader role.

Been awesome to see. Maybe next year he?ll start impacting wins.

Don't get your hopes up - did you forget we lost three whole games in the playoffs?

Well, Brown being the vocal leader ended up being the missing piece for our team this year. He continues to improve and evolve as a player and now, a leader. Him and Tatum are perfect together. Knowing one can have a bad game offensively and the other picks up the slack is huge too.

Glad to see I came out on the right side of history in this thread. That?s not always the case lol.

I?m not even really a huge Jaylen fan, but I knew that the contract was an absolute must and that teams would be tripping over themselves to acquire him should he become available.

We actually came through and won a Title. There is literally zero argument against the contract anymore. That is literally the only thing that matters

There?s a handful of discussions like this now that are totally moot. Jaylens contract, the swap pick for Derrick White, trading for Jrue, getting Al back, etc. They all led to a championship, they were all worth it, end of story.

And the OG debate, trading KG and the Captain to Brooklyn for some draft picks.
